Title: Just another 696
Post by: malamikigo on May 17, 2013, 06:45:36 PM
Hey guys, joined the site a while ago and posted a bit but never did an intro thread, so here it is.

My name's Matt, I'm a professional photographer, located in Vancouver, Canada. Been riding for 7 years, coming off a couple SV's and a zx6r in my past.  I bought an 09 696 late last year and have been enjoying it so far this season after spending the winter modding it.  It was totally stock when I bought it, and current mod list is as follows:

- termignoni stainless pipes
- DP racing ECU and hi-flo air filter
- rizoma reverse retro mirrors
- ducati performance comfort seat
- ebay axle sliders/spools
- ebay frame sliders
- motodynamics fender eliminator
- motodynamics integrated taillight
- plastidip headlight frame
- 14T front sprocket
- oberon 30mm clutch slave cylinder
- 796 clevis (rear shock mount) swap
- raise front shocks 10mm
- remove headlight cowl, replace with instrument panel cover

I also have gsxr fork swap in the works. New forks and rotor spacers purchased so far, currently sourcing calipers, caliper spacers, axle, and new brake lines.

The bike, chained up like an angry pitbull:

Nice bike. great look. very sinister.

you now have the same issue I have. the tall boy lean. make sure you check your kickstand mount bolts often.

I really need to pick up a longer kickstand from a 796 or 1100

Yea, I'm looking into a new kickstand for sure, and I'm cautious of where I park it cause it certainly leans more after the shockmount swap, and will probably lean even more once I swap the GSXR forks cause they're even longer!
