We lost another great one today.

I was fortunate enough to see Ray & Robbie play the music of the Doors about 2 1/2 years ago.  Ray looked and sounded great then.  I couldn't believe the energy he had on stage.

RIP, Ray.

I don't normally have "favorites" in bands...but Ray was most definitely my favorite Door.  :'(

At 74 years old all I can say is good job!  He beat the rocker curve of drug overdoses and liver failure!

Thanks for the great memories!

I had the great priviledge of seeing The Doors live when I was 15 years old with my best friend... he still is. They played (of all places) at the music hall at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas. We couldn't even drive yet so my friend's Dad had to drive us there and pick us up. Funny, even though we didn't smoke pot we came home wreaking of it! [laugh] My parents asked "what's that smell?" Still laugh about to this day!

GREAT show!! Just remember Morrison staggering around stage drunk as shit sucking on a bottle of what looked like a bottle of Jack Daniels... I think, but some how keeping it together and belting out every song. Manzarek was awesome as was Robby Krieger on guitar. Another great concert event I will take to the grave... along with Zappa, Robert Palmer, The Allman Brothers, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Billy Cobham, Al DiMeola and so many others. [thumbsup] [wine]
