Throwing water balloons is now a crime. WTF is the world coming to when kids get criminal charges over water balloons?
Seven teenage students in North Carolina were arrested on Thursday and charged with a misdemeanor for throwing water balloons during a school prank. A parent was also arrested during the incident. The seven boys, all between the ages of 16 and 17, threw balloons filled with tap water as an end-of-year prank at Enloe High School in Raleigh. The balloons were rumored to be filled with “other substances,†but Wake County Public School System spokeswoman Renee McCoy said “all indications†were that only water was used. Six of the teens were charged with disorderly conduct. The seventh was charged with assault and battery for hitting a school security officer with a balloon.
The mother of an Enloe High School student has filed a complaint with the Raleigh Police Department after an officer threw her son to the ground Thursday as police responded to a water balloon battle at the school.
I called the school up and told them they should be ashamed of themselves for being horrible stewards of children. Personally I feel that every parent in the Country should be flooding their phone lines for the next week. I am not even a parent and I fear for the ugly reality facing kids these days. Harmless water balloons are now a crime. [bang]
Here is their number is you feel so inclined.

I don't usually post non moto related stuff here but I just have to add this to every board I post on. The story needs to go viral so that someone in that freaking school realizes just how unacceptable their behavior is.
Jeez, and I thought the "Pizza gun incident" was stoopid. http://abcnews.go.com/US/video/student-suspended-pizza-gun-school-biting-waving-like-gun-other-kids-us-15171514 (http://abcnews.go.com/US/video/student-suspended-pizza-gun-school-biting-waving-like-gun-other-kids-us-15171514)
Although, they must have expected some sort of action for hitting the security guard, police throwing kids to the ground and arresting them for water balloons...total bullshit.

I agree that this whole thing sounds ridiculous including the arrest. Likely the arrest was a cite and release in the field and was due to the school demanding action, not the cops wanting to waste their time on it. There is likely a lot more to the story involving the throwing the kid to the ground part.
I am SO glad I'm not raising a kid these days.....
Good on the cops for nipping this sort of behaviour in the bud. It starts off water balloons, next you know it's molotov cocktails behind the barricades of burning tyres and overthrow of the government.
they can take my spork when they pry it from my cold dead lifeless fingers.

Pretty cool. [thumbsup]
You could also make an air powered one that looks like a potato gun and using a simple gate valve to fire it. Just as portable, and you wouldn't need the sprinkler mechanism and battery to fire it.

Hey guys! This is Mike. I'm the guy who made the water ballon cannon. I just wanted to say
thanks for the kind comments! Much appreciated. My channel on YouTube is TheGeekPub (http://www.youtube.com/TheGeekPub).
It was a blast making it. I've also made a rifle version of it, but haven't had time to make a video about that one yet. Maybe next week. The rifle version is smaller and more compact, but the antics you can have with it are awesome! [evil]
