Title: Looking for a particular kind of leather suit liner
Post by: Ducatista on July 04, 2008, 03:45:01 PM
I'm looking for one of those super wicking one piece suits, but I want it to have long sleeves and come down to the knees on the legs.  Has anyone ever seen anything like that?

These (http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=21) are awesome. They wick, help to keep you cool, and the best part? When you're covered in sweat you can easily get your leathers off without enlisting 3 people to help you wrestle out of them!

Are you sure you want one piece?  What about bathroom breaks?

You can wear one of these (http://www.my-healthandsafety.com/my-staydrysupply/images/Depend_Belted_Undergarments_Extra.jpg) under the suit ;D.

But seriously, you're right, a lady would need some other sort of configuration... perhaps something like this (http://www.underarmour.com/shop/womens/sports/running/pid1001411-Women-s-HeatGear-UA-Metal-Streaker-Tight/1001411-001)? Don't know if you still have the benefit of easy off leathers with Underarmor but their stuff works great.

The leathers are already one piece, and I can't stand seams around my waist.  I hate the leggings/shirt combo.

Just make sure you post a pic once you find what you're looking for ;D

I've never seen anything that stops at the knees.  There are a few folks I've seen wear a one peice undersuit made of a mesh very similar to the lining of the leather itself.  I do not know if it comes in ladies sizes/cuts, and since it is a mesh, it can pose another challenge: you will be wearing an addition layer underneath or essentially be walking around with your underwear visible if you have to venture anywhere in your undersuit.  Perhaps only a problem if you are feeling a sense of modesty (I've seen some pictures posted on the internet where the subject obviously did not realize how visable everything was).  I think the brand name is "Taichi", "Tamachi", or  "Tamadachi" or something...perhaps someone else here is familiar...

I use silk jersey undergarments intended for cross country skiers.  They are thin, light, and cool.  I like the comfort and feel of the fiber content above the Underarmor, but they do not wick moisture.  You may be able to find a one peice silk long john with the old fashioned "poop chute", but I really do think you will miss the conveinince of two peice underarmor, especially if you will be riding in hot climates where you will be drinking tons of liquids.

Underarmor is by far the most popular garmet I see folks use under their leathers.   Ummm...here's a hint guys and dolls.  The fiber content of the Underarmor holds onto odors...throw a cup full of white vinegar into the wash and odors be gone...the vinegar with some baking soda thrown in works even better.  :)

My leathers are already one piece and I'm not going to sacrifice comfort on the track for an extra minute to get out of gear.

When it comes to paddock modesty, maybe it's just the tracks I've been to, but I have never seen any such thing.  We have a friend who isn't exactly svelte and has more hair than a wookie, but he strips down to his tighty whities.  I won't even get to Ivan, The Gynormous, with his hair down to his waist practically running around in a banana hammock.  Then there's another friend of ours who goes around shirtless under his leathers with the wool covered fuel tank hanging out over the top when he takes breaks with the leathers around his waist.  I think they'd be able to take a woman in a one piece undersuit.  [laugh]  I don't see how a one piece undersuit is any less modest than an UA top/bottom combo.

Here you go Ducatista:

RS Taichi inner suit.
They are mesh and as such are fairly transparent as was reconfirmed this weekend when I was horrified by some old man nipples just about on display at the track.  But you go ahead and rock your undies, girl!!!

Not a good picture (they come in light blue too):

Oh, hahaha... not looking for a mesh liner.  I was looking for one like what STG sells, but with knee length legs.  I am just going to get the one that STG sells and roll with that.

EDZ in the UK make one as well. I bought one for 19 quide when I was over there and can vouch for them.

Closer to home for you, Joe Rocket make one as well, and it's the best I've tried for getting into and out of sweaty leather.

Hope this helps
