Title: New Monster Owner (Hopefully)
Post by: JPlip on June 07, 2013, 10:32:17 PM
Hey All,

Name is Jon, from Upstate NY, USA.  Soon to be owner of a 2000 M900 ie.  Looking to get some info on the bikes.  I've been riding for 20 years, but recently took 7 yrs off.  This will be my first Duc.  Hope I can learn and contribute!

Welcome - what part of NY? My wife is from up there abouts. Trailered up my KTM last year when we visited her folks and roamed the Lake Champlain and Lake Placid areas. On some way back trail, found a newish camper trailer, and bugged the make the beast with two backs outta there. I've seen breaking bad  ;)

I'm from the Syracuse area, but I did live in Burlington, VT for a bit.  Lake Champlain and Lake Placid are both great areas to ride!  Taking NYS Route 8 north from Utica through the Adirondacks is one of my all time favorite rides. Check it out if you get the chance; you won't be disappointed!

No, I'm not familiar with that shop, but thanks for the info.  I had a Kawi 600 when I was in Burlington, so I never really checked out any desmo shops.
