$250 deductible I have to pay for just driving down the road and suddenly getting sandwiched between two vehicles. Thanks to the ahole who caused the collision and took off!!
on the bike or in the cage?
Sounds like an issue with your insurance, not California. And you don't really pay deductibles, they just pay you $250 less.

No bikes for a year now.
HB..The issue with CA is the hit and run after just moving here.
How is the issue with my insurance? Nobody is paying me because the person who caused the "accident" is gone. They have the person who hit me but they claimed uninsured motorist. I have to come up with $250.
Hit and runs can also happen anywhere. My daughter was recently hit front and rear in her car. When she got out to deal with the other drivers they both took off. :o
She said she thinks they were illegal aliens.

My insurance waives the deductible on an uninsured motorist.
Sue the person that hit you in small claims if the $250 is worth your time.

Maybe you missed the part

one person caused the accident and left the scene, and another (with apparently no insurance) hit iz.
it's a simple uninsured motorist claim... i've never had to pay a deductible for those.

It's the same here in Oz with my insurer, as long as you have the details of the "uninsured motorist" you don't pay the deductible (it's called excess here)

Nope, didn't miss that. Derby summed it up for you.
Some confusion here.
Hit and run driver hit car next to me..slightly. She was a permit driver and of course, drove into me and drove me into the car on my other side. That girl..the one who hit me..had insurance. She claimed hit and run and uninsured motorist with her insurance company. Nothing I can do or my insurance can do to get my out of pocket deductible. I can if..like Hbliam said..take her to small claims. Is $250 worth it to me? Hell yes! I'm not working yet and I have a toddler to feed. The time and energy it will take while trying to take care of said toddler may not be ..especially if I don't get the $ back. [thumbsdown]
IZ did you get photos of the incident?
Oh... wait :-\.
Never mind.
how the hell can the girl who hit you, albeit by the runaway asshole, claim uninsured motorist? you should go after her insurance company since she hit you.
Wait-you're in california? What part?
