My 696 has been running rough as of late. I always follow the recommended start procedure: I wait till the logo has flashed, turn the lever all the way up, wait till my rpm reaches 3k then drop it down and leave. The temperature in my area is in the 80's now too, so there should be no problem with the bike warming up. This morning I followed the procedure I outlined and when I got to a stop sign the bike died, and again in the middle of a slow turn. Also, a couple of weekends ago, whenever I put the bike in first, it would just die. Is there anything that could be causing this? I'm really annoyed. The bike has 6k on the clock so it's out of the break in period.
new exhaust?
any new mods?
Slip on. No race air filter yet, but was hoping to install in the near future and do the ECU reflash. I've had the slip on on for a while though and never really had any issues.
Have you replaced the fuel filter?
I don't recall having done that because I didn't see it in the service schedule. All I've done for the most part is change the oil.

At 6K it would be worth a shot IMO.
Just because Ducati changed the service schedule to 7500 miles doesn't necessarily mean a filter will last that much longer.
Change bike.
Or start from changing sparks. TPS reset. Fuel filter clean\replace.
