Did you try booking a flight and viewing your itinerary?
The ones I did seemed very much like the flights you take
Happy Baby Sonic Isopod! [laugh] [laugh]
I went ahead and booked a flight, priceless! [thumbsup]

Just sent out a memo to the other members of my company stating that this is our new travel provider - can't wait for the feedback.
They fly out of Bonanza OR which is just a short drive from here, so I booked a flight in cargo to go to Elko on vacation. [thumbsup]

They don't fly in/out of Denver, but some of the destinations sound familiar.

I hear that Elko is a great place to visit no time of the year.
But I see that you stepped up and booked 'cargo' class. Was that around $6K?

It was only $98 and 26 hrs travel time. ( I could drive to Elko for about $98 in about 6 or 7 hours) they have casino with a buffet an a hotel so therefore its a great vacation destination.

How much is the buffet?
:P
Not really sure. I just stopped in Elko to get gas and stretch last year and saw the Casino. The town was much larger than I thought it was. I don't know what draws people to the middle of the dessert like that though.
You could ask for a DMF discount at the buffet and see what they say.

There is a fair amount of mining in that area - gold primarily.
I applied for a job there at an aviation company. Glad that didnt go anywhere.
My cousin is the accountant for one of the casinos in the Elko area. She grew up in Hawthorne Nevade, so Elko was a big improvement in scenery. My wife and I stayed at an old Casiino in Winnemucca, NV a bunch of years ago. It was old and run down but we had a great time. They had a good band in the bar, free drink chits, the slots were fairly loose and we had a great meal at a Basque restaurant in town.
I was hoping that the airlines had a flight out of Zittau, WI direct to Elko so I could visit my cousin. No such luck though.
One think thats funny about my flight is that Bonaza OR doesn't even have a landing strip to my knowledge let alone an airport.

Like Randimus said...Gold, and the jobs that go with it. Nevada is the 2nd largest gold producing region in the world, mostly in the general area of Elko.
Also, there's fantastic hunting/camping/fishing around Elko if that's you're thing.
I wouldn't move there (as a native Nevadan), but I can see why people would.

Which is ironic, as the state motto is "the silver state"

Well if people like it I love it.
As for myself I like to live amongst the trees and other green things.

[laugh] Never thought about that! The silver boom around Virginia City did come before the gold rush though.
