Title: Anybody else loathe "feeler" threads in the classifieds?
Post by: hbliam on July 11, 2013, 11:10:39 AM
It's either for sale or it's not.

All a "feeler" ad says to me is "if someone gives me my unrealistic inflated perception of what my bike/part is worth, I'll sell it."

Well duh, we all would.

So let's drop the feeler BS and just list stuff for sale with a fair price.

I don't frequent the classifieds here so not sure what a "feeler" is?

Wouldn't this thread best be in that section though?

Btw..I've got some stock pipes for sale.

I somewhat agree, but with a caveat....those who post in say the general monster forum or general sections with a "feeler" of what their ride is possibly potentially worth often tend towards getting moved to classifieds if the #'s and/or item are attractive enough for lots of attention posts...so it is kind of a double edged sword of damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

IMO, A feeler post and a "what is my bike worth" post are different. I see nothing wrong with someone taking the pulse of the community so they can be realistic. In fact, more sellers should as we have some ridiculous values asked on some of these bikes. Sorry, your bike isn't rare if I can get on ebay or Craigslist and find the same bike in two minutes of surfing.
