Hi All,
Just got a 2007 monster s2r800. Only 3k on it. Fully serviced by Ducati. Tires are fine, but how safe are they?
Friend with Ducati recommends upgrading to Michelin 2CT.
Thoughts welcome!
If the tires are original you will definitely notice an improvement by replacing them.
I like the Michelins also. The regular Power is an excellent choice as well if you aren't track riding. More than adequate for the street.
Keep in mind if you use the bike for commuting the Powers or 2ct's will square off pretty quickly.
Pretty happy with the Pirelli Rosso 2's. So happy I put on a second set last week.
I've always found it amusing that all monsters even the 400cc ones that can barely break a ton have Z rated tyres.
If theres life left in the tyre use it. as long as the side wall aint cracked it will be fine.
anyone not on a track could ride the Pilot Road 2ct or 3's and be more than satisfied AND they don't square off during commuting as quickly

The higher the speed rating, the lighter the tire.
My vote PR 3

Well, anything from the 620 on should break 140 sooo Z rating explained [drink]
Which road bike tires aren't Z rated.
Michelin came out with the Pilot Power 3 this year, which are significantly better than the 2ct's. Shoild last longer also :)
The PR3's are what everyone is saying...long lasting, great in the rain...AND they look GREAT!!
