He 'gesticulated' at the Frenchman [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
DePuniet's a lot like Lorenzo, he uses all of the available track.
Just not in a consistent fashion.

FP2: MM.
and blake young destroyed the only attack kawi they have, red flag for a bit. he's ok. capirossi was out on the track cleaning it by hand ;]
Dovi in 3rd on the Duc?
Wut?
???
and back down to 6th in fp3
Marquez if officially an alien
kid rides the circuit on a MOPED never having been on it before
and then ends on top of times sheets since.
Watching FP3, I think I saw BP!
WTF, Speed can't wait for a 15 minute qualifying session to be completed before show commercials. [bang]
I've been spoiled by Brit Eurosport coverage obviously

bradl on pole by 2/100ths. guess he heard the rumors too. tbh, i really hope he can put together an entire race. but i think marquez and rossi will walk away from him by about lap 10.
Bradley is a bit like the front row backstop at this point... If you want to win, you get past him fast and start to gap on the rest of the grid.
A bit like dovi when he was on the Honda
me and degan are homies
I cannot wait to hear what Rossi has to say about the corkscrew
MM Pulls a Rossi on Rossi in the corkscrew!! [bow_down] [evil]
Argh!! No TV. Gym and clubhouse don't have Speed channel!! :(
How old is MM? Holy crap! What a make the beast with two backsing talent. Can't believe he's never raced at Laguna!
Great job by Bradl.
That kid is the second coming.
I'd love to see him and Stoner duke it out.
I just sent SPEED a really nasty email. Did they seriously have to cut out for a commercial break right as Rossi and Bautista were getting to the line?
MM is a bad ass. No surprise, but damn! :o
Great ride by Bradl...seems he doesn't want to give up his seat to Crutchlow!
Nice ride by Rossi, and great sportsmanship by him at the end.
Ducatis... [thumbsdown] At least Hayden beat Dovi though.
Amazing efforts by Pedrobot and JLo. [bow_down]

Stoner was somewhere standing on a couch or bar stool, screaming and flailing his arms in excitement that all his letters written to karma weren't for nothing.
I wonder if Marc could have passed Bradl if Bradl had the same bike?
That was a good race.

Waste of your time, Moto racing doesn't pay the bills, it's like Soccer in the US. Folks don't care about it. How many guys/gals ride bikes where you work? How many of those are Moto race fans? Get a MotoGP subscription.

Stoner was probably wondering why his asshole is so tight that the circulation cut off.
MM is a better version of Stoner, but he's happy and excited each week. Not some dickhole pissed off Australian.

you call what he did today luck?
he hunted Bradl like well like he would have done all year to Lorenzo if Pedrosa wasn't holding him up.
notice he put a move on Rossi that he would have never done on his teammate.

You do know that somewhere there's a younger faster version of Marc just waiting to be discovered.
Rossi cut the corner and passed Stoner. Marc cut the corner even more and passed Rossi. Four years from now some 19 year old is going to take the turns right out of the corkscrew and straight line it through the gravel traps right past Marc.
But Marc won't be a pissed off dickhole from Spain. I hope.
Rossi needs to learn the "finger wag" from Lorenzo - this "sportsmanship" shid is unacceptable
I wonder is Bautista was cursing his luck for being behind Rossi for third. I mean, he must have wanted to challenge for the podium but after Mugello and Catalunya, he had to be thinking, "Crap, I don't want to f--- this up and almost kill him a AGAIN!"

Doubt he was thinking that at all after Rossi stated he wasn't as fast as the top guys and he gets a bit crazy when he's close to them. Beating Rossi would be payback for Rossi flapping his jaw.

Rossi started it, apparently about balance (?)
The pass ala Rossi. The 20yr old is magical.
http://youtu.be/5-FD76BwB08 (http://youtu.be/5-FD76BwB08)
IMHO you should not be able to pass off of the circuit. (?)
i always thought if you make a position by cutting a corner you get a penalty, but maybe that's a different series.
the way I see it, Rossi pushed him out, but I think Marquez knew that would happen and hoped to put himself in a position to use it.

You can't advance your position going off the track in F1 or NASCAR or IRL. Why is it ok in GP?
maybe because goign off track on a bike has more consequences in itself, so it leads to it's own punishment?

I don't buy that. I think they don't care about a race line. The track is what it is.
Actually, it is illegal to advance your position by going off track. *But* the distinction lies in whether or not the pass was completed before the off track excursion.
In both 2008 and this year's instances, both passes were completed before the bikes went off track and then re-entered the course.
A fine line to be sure, but a line nonetheless.
The rule is more agressively enforced in WSBK where riders have been given position penalties, ride-throughs and been black flagged for off course passes.

ding!
Without re-arguing the 2008 pass . . .
It's not just about whether your wheel is ahead of the other person in determining whether the pass was completed before the off-track excurusion. If you make a pass and are ahead, but the only way that you managed to do that was to make a move that required you to run off the track, then you chose to run off the track in order to get ahead of someone, i.e. you've taken an advantage. In that sense, one can argue ( ;)) that 2008 and 2013 are different passes. It's not clear that Rossi was going to make the turn in 2008. In 2013, Marquez didn't make the turn because Rossi braked late and pushed him off line. We don't need to argue whether Rossi was gonna stay on track when he passed Stoner, but let's at least acknowledge that the passes are a bit different.
Rossi, already clearly ahead of Stoner before going off track:
Marquez, already clearly ahead of Rossi before going off track:
The passes happen at different points in the Corkscrew, and in that regard, they are indeed different passes.
But, the fact still remains that both passes were completed before the off track portion which is where the core discussion was...whether or not either rider gained an advantage in position by using the off track excursion...neither did.
Granted, in 2008, Rossi re-entered as Stoner was trying to re-take the position, but then it would be a case of Stoner trying to monopolize on the error and not an instance of Rossi trying to gain the position.
Marquez didn't stick around to discuss it after he passed Rossi so that part isn't an argument either.
The passes are the same in one respect, both Rossi in '08 and Marquez in '13 completed the pass, and subsequently ran off track.
However, in '08, Stoner stayed on track.
'13, Rossi did not stay on track.
So, in that respect, '08 was as if two riders were approaching a chicane, and the following rider doesn't slow down, making the 'pass' while still on track, but then going down the escape road and keeping the pass.
Wrong, IMO.
Reducto ad absurdum....imo, just another case of MM stuffing it up the inside on a turn but, in this case, he had a physical 'out' cause it's a chicane, not a one-direction turn.
I say he should have been shown the paddock on this one...cutting off corners and playing 'chicken' on the corkscrew is not the sporting thing to do.

Playing chicken, and stuffing it up the inside??? He passed Rossi on the outside, and only ran wide because Rossi did trying to defend it. He almost certainly would have made the corner otherwise. Should he pull up alongside Rossi and politely ask him to pass instead? [roll]
Rossi's pass on the other hand WAS stuffing it up the inside, and he had no way of making the corner, running off the track. I'm with Speeddog on this one.
