Hopefully he gets a decent ride for 2014. He deserves it after getting such sub-par bikes from Ducati.
much discussion of this in the Silly Season thread.

Well, crap. That's what I get for being in such a breathless rush to post. Derp. [roll]
Eh, done the sme thing a hundred times. [roll] My middle name is "derby".
I like "The Kid" and I hope he lands something decent. Don't see that happening in GP though.

Except Dovi and Pedro, right? [roll] They must not be very good either.

The line from Ducati:

Sounds like there's a Ducati Superbike offer (though maybe an informal one, without all the zeroes filled out, much less the rest of the contrace) on the table.

the way I read that was as a potential replacement for Pirro possibly....from this bit alone...
"....“In the past, Ducati had some good results with Nicky, but we were never able to achieve any race wins. There is a cycle in the sporting life of athletes, and I think we all, including him, need to look at a different opportunity.â€....Will Hayden continue to be involved in development of the current machine? “Yes,†said Ciabatti. “We really value his input and effort. This bike can be improved....."

isn't that shot from the COTA Panigale release junket?
that pic isn't intended to be a shot from the test. just says that he will test.
I'd rather see him on something competitive... unless they can work the bugs out of the Panigale.

Still way down on power. They need to fix that.
While I'm not 100% sure about the condition of the WSBK team and the ability of the Panagale to run at the front of the pack in WSBK, I sure hope that's where Nicky winds up.
I think that if the machine is competitive he'll do really well there, and I'd love to see him do a "triple crown" championship and win a few more titles before the hangs up his leathers.

MotoGP announcers seem to believe that Nicky will be in MotoGP next year. Either ART or LCR.

I would hope he stays. Never leave the party, as re-entry is nearly impossible. WSBK will always be waiting down the line.
most recently just seemed to be a matter of Lucio finding the rest of nicky's money..

Has American Honda gotten involved to date?
With 4 rounds left, we still have no clue other than he checked out the ART. LCR is running out of time.

it has been reported by SBKPlanet that they are still digging in the couch cushions for the coin to go ahead with that prospect.

With all the coin they've saved by not competing in AMA they should have that lying on the floor. ;)

Its looking like Nicky will be on the new Aspar ART bike... I wonder if they can improve it enough to compete with the production racers next year. I've seen rumors of seamless transmission and penumatic valves added... but looking at the current gas usage of the RSV4, I'm pretty iffy if they can make it work as a factory entry.
I'd be shocked if the Aspar Aprilias run as non-MSMA entries. Their electronics are one of their major strengths, and rumor is that the spec ecu software is shit. They just have to figure out the fuel economy, as I believe they get a few extra motors the 1st year as a new MSMA entry.
It's Cal's era now at Ducati with his old buddy Dovi.

For Nicky, those statements were definitely that.
They deserve something more along the lines of what Cal would say.
I expect they'll get be getting some of that in the not too distant future.
did you see the interview where Ducati told Hayden "sorry, we don't have enough parts to build a new bike for you to test"
what a stupid move. the guy has MORE experience than any other rider on a Ducati GP bike.
guess they didn't want him saying, "it still sucks"

that might be linked a few posts above.. ;)
I mean from Ducati perspective, Hayden is leaving so of course priority should go to Dovi. Yes, they should have told him instead of BS. But still, it's part of the racing game.

Back to Honda. [popcorn]
So is Scott Redding moving to the same team as Hayden? Fan of Scott Redding in moto2. Not sure who I am going to be fan of next season in moto2 other than Terrol.
AFAIK, Redding will be on a production racer Honda at Gresini, next to Bautista (on a Satellite Honda).
Gresini, yes. Not sure which flavor RC he gets.

I think Bautista keeps the "satelite" machine and Reding gets the RCV1000R "customer" machine
It's the end of a miserable era for Nicky, Ducati will suffer on for a long, time!
