I'm not going I find the whole thing a bit lame.
I'm not at all in denial that i'm so old that it was 20 years since highschool not all all [roll]
Did any of you goto yours?
...only 20? ;D
I've been to a couple.
I went to mine even though the advent of social media/Facebook ruined any discovery of my fellow classmates accomplishments.
So instead of playing the whole what have you done with your life over the past 10 years, we all got drunk and raged out. I didn't like half the people I went to school with. So this was an ideal solution.
I did go to my 25th back in 2008 . . . as far as I remember, we all got drunkled as in the good ol' times, yes, the wifes that attended, don't ask me who said it was OK, were not too happy . . .
oh yeah that too I don't like half of them lol.
[drink]
I live maybe 5 miles from my high school. Graduated in 1979
And haven't been to the 10th, 20th, or 30th. I wasn't popular
In school. Didn't see the point in paying to be unpopular
Again.
I went to my 5th and 10th, none since then.
5th was OK, not hugely different.
Went to the 10th with my (now ex-) wife, she was not amused with the repeating theme of 'who's got the biggest diamond wedding ring' amongst the wives.

how bout, 'who has the most Ducatis?'
I have not been to any. 30th was last year!
Will be at mine in 2 hours. This will be our second & 1/2 in 31 years. Sucky, cliquey snobby types and I was not in that circle. Went to the first one (10 year). Was awful. Swore I would never go again.
It's at a brewery tonight in a tiny beach resort town that has the annual drunken sailor boat festival going on as well. That redeeming plan and having interacted with and seen a few people since the first one helped to change my mind.
There's still a few mean girls whose hair i'd like to discretely put bubble gum in but I'll take the high, graceful / "ugly-duckling-to-not-quite-a-swan-but-maybe-a-wood-duck" road.
The "1/2" reunion was a select group who decided on a whim to get together and use some class funds for a little party. I think about 20 of the 300+ knew about it.
Will be interesting! Shocking, even to me: I'm optimistic about how this will go!
Anticipating drunk thread posts later. [beer]
I Went back to the 10 year reunion. That was the first..and it'll most likely be the last..reunion for our class. The Only reason I went is because I was living back in the state briefly for grad school. If I hadn't been, I wouldn't have wasted the time or airfare.
I went to the last two, still trying to explain a few things to old girlfriends, good and bad. The core gang gets together twice a year at the local small town bar, we were all class clowns. I bet if you went you would have fun after all is said and done.

Don't you have a 25th coming up soon?

I think we both do next year.
My 30th was two years ago and I couldn't care less about seeing any of them. Of course they probably feel exactly the same about me so I guess it all works out.
I went to several, had a blast cutting up with some of my boys. My 40th was this year, but I didn't make it.
I am still friends with the 5 or 10 people I hung out with. I don't need to see the other 700.

Uh huh. I don't believe that for a second!! [cheeky]
Shocker, I know!
The whole thing was over though by 10pm. [roll]
I beat my mother home.

In my defense, I did not have a car and hitched a ride with some gal pals. Went through 3 DUI checkpoints within 5 miles.
For once I made a big girl decision. Yay me. [clap]
I haven't been to any yet and don't plan on going in the future. There are few people I wanted to keep in contact with, mostly I don't care what happened to the rest. Also my UPS route was in the town where I grew up and went to school, so I'd run into mostly the parents of people from school, or occasionally old school mates. Most of them didn't attend any of the reunions either. :-\
All the friends that I have kept in touch with from my high school days either, didn't go to my school, or were from different class years from me, or both.
My 25th was last summer. I didn't go.
The vast majority of classmates I care to hear about are still in contact from time to time. [thumbsup]

WHY DID YOU EVER GO????
i've never been to one.........in 25 years. [holy shit, when did i get that old??!!!]
i hated almost everyone i went to high school with, and the few exceptions are no more likely to attend a reunion than I..
My 10 year went by and I didn't go or care. I kept up with the people I wanted to keep in contact with.
JM
I went to mine 10th and it was depressing. Most of the guys stayed in that little town. Some had aged 2x faster than the rest and looks like life had dealt them a really bad hand. Girls who I thought were attractive aren't anymore. Also saw those guys who peaked in high school who really looked forward to the reunion so he can relive his glory years....
Not sure if I want to go to my 20th, which is coming up in a couple of years.

^ Yup, same here and I'll admit to inner feelings of satisfaction seeing what happened to some of the popular crowd. [evil]

Ditto, only it's more like 33 years for me.

Is that for real, if it is I bet it is cutting down on the drunk drivers in your neck of the woods. I have never even seen one and wish their were more around here.
I don't even get invited to mine.
I'm listed as "deceased"
:D
I went to my 20 year with my wife, got propositioned by a couple of divorcees that had too much to drink.
Won't be going to any more.
I've got a 35th coming up next year - last one I went to was the 5th. I keep up with those I cared about on Faceplant so it's not really worth the travel for me - it's usually over Thanksgiving Weekend and I hate travelling then, so I'll visit other time. :)
I haven't been to any of mine yet.
And the 20th is the same weekend as Indy MotoGP...1 guess as to where I will be and it won't be the reunion.
I am in contact with the people I give a crap about from HS.
And those who want to find out what I am up to these days can find me on Facebook or LinkedIn.
They have reunions? Why the make the beast with two backs would I want to go see the very people I could not wait to get away from?
Most of my town never left town and those that did had the imagination of a limp blanket. It has been fun over the years to look a few up and see what happened to their lives. To date all I can say is that many of the "in-kids" are losers now. I might be one of the only success stories from my old home town..... Kinda sad actually :-\
I go back to my home town 3-5 times a year... I live an hour away... To see the few friends I care about.
I don't do Facebook or any other social media type thingies. My wife is a big facewaster person and keeps up with the wanna bees doings. I like my private life and the few true friends I have. I don't need people being friendly to me for the wrong reasons.
I've never attended a reunion and plan not to attend my 30th this Saturday. Instead I'm taking my friends out to dinner.
I only graduated high school 3 years ago. And I now own a house in the same town so I could be close to my parents (brothers all lived out of state at the time) and help them out when they needed it. Every day is pretty much a high school reunion. I goto the grocery store and its people I went to school with. Goto the mall, same shit. And with Facebook I can keep in touch with people I actually give a shit about but no longer live here due to joining the military, out of state college, or out of state jobs.
I probably won't goto my high school reunion because I pretty much despised the kids I went to school with. And Im still close with some of my high school friends but I had to ditch some others because they just wouldn't grow up.

There was also an annual drunken sailer boat parade going on at the same time. The checkpoints were for that crowd.
I have to say, with a few exceptions, everyone has aged really well. Even the mean girls.
