Amanda in my office decided to enter us into the Marvin Windows Architects Challenge Showdown.
Surprisingly we're doing well.
We are currently in the top ten, hoping for a spot in the top three. This will allow us to advance into the final round. We are thrilled with our success, as this is a national competition. Please take a moment to check out our entry, a beautiful lake-side home on our very own Pleasant Lake, and cast your vote for us, Frank Anzalone Associates. You are able to vote daily from your computer, I pad and or mobile device. Thank you for your continued support!

I'll vote for you, but only if you support the keystone pipelin the NRA, and equal pay for women.

I refuse to support the National Restaurant Association! (it's a long story.)
okee dokee. and to clarify the equal pay thingy, i think they should all get about nine bucks an hour.

I guess they won't be waiting for your support then....
Done.
I don't support the Keystone Pipeline either. No shitty beer should have its own pipeline.

So, that is what all the controversy is about? Won't the Keystone beer be going to China improving our balance of trade?
Nice job!
I figured that since you probably weren't responsible for the interior decor..... I could vote for ya [thumbsup]
Voted 2x so far :)

Just did my 3rd vote.
Voted again!

Is there anyway to see where things stand or not until voting closes?

He was in 7th or 8th the other day, and is currently in 6th, so that is good news. [thumbsup]

I can't believe the top one, "let's put a city town house in the middle of the woods and call it great innovation"???
ugh
your design was very unique and the interior was gorgeous

+1
I would love that house.
Prior to posting on the DMF, we were holding steady in third place. Then all of a sudden we were knocked down to 11th. And the number of votes spiked.
We heard a rumor this morning and we just verified it. If you vote then delete your browser cookies you can vote again.
No wonder why we weren't gaining any ground.
Well, that's an easy fix! Browse, vote, delete cookies, vote again! Rinse, lather, repeat!
JM
When the competing companies are going to use these type of wins or awards for future marketing their should be a registration required to cast your one vote and one vote only. Isn't it supposed to be about quality architecture rather then who can get their 12 year old to sit at the computer voting all day?
Voted.

I just did this 5 or 8 times and it did work, but now it doesn't. Even clearing the cache/cookies and reloading the page it still says come back tomorrow to vote.
Just voted 6 times, but I have to get to work or I'll be sending frank my resume. ;D
Back in the land of connectivity and will get to voting! Good luck! Gorgeous home, by the way! [thumbsup]
I got another 3 votes in during lunch. Then it wouldn't work for me.
I have ethics issues with voting more than once. Kin to cheating in my book. Sadly I am certain his competitors are all doing it as are their friends. When did we start rewarding such behavior as a society? Oh wait Wall Street, never mind............ [roll]
the website askes people to vote multiple times

Pretty much what I said earlier. If you win, what have you really won? Has nothing to do with their craft.

I have to be honest, I'm a little disappointed. And to make it worse I've dragged all of you in.
We've worked really hard on the design, preparing the submission and getting votes.
But I want to thank all of you for your support! You guys are always there when I need you.

I'm sorry if I offended you. Your design is great and so are many of the others. I looked through them and voted for yours because I liked it.
For discussion sake the method of voting raises some ethical questions. I ( and others) question the value of "winning" a design contest when the votes are just friends of all the designers and the same friends people can vote over and over. For all you know, firms are assigning interns or receptionists to vote all day. Further, being involved in the construction industry for the last fifteen plus years, I know whoever wins is going to present this to potential clients to further their credibility. Is that proper?
And I suspect the only reason voting is open every day is to drive traffic to the manufacturers site.

As you said, the competition is doing the same so all is fair. Off I go to vote again.
I'm not voting multiple times because I agree with the website's shonky voting system. I don't.
I'm voting multiple time because that's what the website's shonky voting system requires for success.
Vote just once = pissing into the wind.

No offense taken here.
Thanks everyone for voting!
I was a bit surprised with the sneaky voting options. I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the houses that were advancing. I don't want to be that whiny bitter person. So I'll let someone else do it. While visiting Marvin Windows sit-on-my-face-book (<--- credit to Rat) page I found this post:
"I looked over the remaining houses and I'm baffled how they survived the first round. I'm supposed to pick from *that*? Certainly they're nice and all, but the bar for an architectural competition should be a tad higher than barn-ish gable-roofed boxes and that ramshackle tool shed at Bragg Hill PA. I mean, what the hell *is* that thing? It looks like a samples display for a tenth-rate siding company tacked onto a dilapidated Midwest granary.
If that's what's at the top of the heap, I'd consider it a breach of aesthetic self-respect to have the vaguest association with it."
Pella windows are better anyway. ;D

That's a sick burn right there :D
I can't believe "the cube" is winning.
I've built more imaginative cat forts from cardboard boxes

I like this one more than the cube. Not in the challenge however
