Title: Hooligan from SoCal
Post by: ThePaperboy on August 02, 2013, 02:28:01 AM
Hi,

I'm James from Southern California.

I've been riding for about 2 years (off and on), which I borrow from very trusting friends. I haven't owned any motorcycles, until recently.

Before my purchase, I've been trolling boards like DMF as a guest to research and gather insight in narrowing down on a Monster.

Now an owner, I join with the intentions to learn more about other's experiences and gather inspiration for my own. I also would like to ride with local ones in my area/city/region.

Here's what my '06 S2R1000 looked like during the first week of owning it this past May.

As with any toy, I got bit by the mod bug...

Recent/Current mods:
- Front windscreen delete
- Woodcraft 1 1/2" clip-ons
- CycleGear bar end mirrors on CRG bar end mounts
- LED front turn signals
- CF front wheel fender
- Speedymoto clutch cover (came with bike)
- CF heel guards
- CF tire hugger
- TI Arrow slip-on exhaust
- Rear fender eliminator from ducatimonstertailchop.com
- Smoked integrated rear tail light

I love the sleek cafe racer look and the rawness of the streetfighter style, which is my influence for my build. My modern take on it...

I commute roughly 130miles round trip with this bike for work (Inland Empire to Venice) so engine performance mods are minimal compared to the "show" mods.

Hopeful future:
- Warranty tank
- EBC Brake rotors/pads
- Levers
- Clutch slave cylinder
- SBK/ohlins forks and rear sus
- Valve cover
- Sprocket cover
- Rear sprocket/chain

Cheers!

Thanks ungeheuer. Glad to be here.

Definitely loving the low beefy lubs even from the slips.
