I keep getting an email for some bill. I do not have an ATT account and trying to get them to stop has resulted in about 2.5 hours on the phone getting transferred to someone else. [bang]
I would like to get the email for the person that handles that stuff.
Oh and "your call is very important to us" as they keep you on hold for 15-20 minutes is just....I cant say it here.
Why responds at all? Just put it in spam folder.
I actually agree with hbliam....if it doesn't cause you to be getting phone calls from debt collectors or a ding on your credit report....just a simple case of someone in data entry put in the wrong Email addy for their actual customer which may not be you....
Agreed...no bill...no worries.
I just don't like it thats all.
my ex-wife says you need to call CS@18002882747 and make your point, only them can "take care" of it or as the rest say "let it be" . . .

My bet is it's phishing.

Very true! I get e-mails that appear to be PayPal mails, warning me that there is a problem. But the e-mail addy is not exactly correct.

Not phishing it's just someone else's bill. I get one once a month. All the links are legit.

Have you gotten an actual paper statement?
complain on their FB page.
I had a problem with ATT Uverse that phone support wouldn't fix, even though I knew they could. complained on FB, 4 hours later problem was solved.
A lot of people opt for paperless billing. I do not get one bill in the mail.
No. They just show up for the pay cheque ;D
Phone conglomerates are clearly the same the world over. But ours are uniquely stupid.
We changed phone service carriers at the start of this year. Switchover all went smoothly, new lower bills for the same service began to arrive (real pieces of paper, in the post) and I happily paid.
Then.... Telstra (the major Australian telco) also sent me a bill. I called 'em to ask why they thought I owed 'em money for a service which they no longer supply. After 16 hours on hold I eventually got to speak to a call centre operator in the Philippines who assured me that my account was indeed closed and that the bill was issued in error. All taken care of now Sir, is there anything else I can assist you with Sir?
Great [thumbsup].
One month later Telstra sent me another bill. Again I sat thru the recorded hold messages telling me how my call is so make the beast with two backsing important... whilst demonstrating to me that my call is actually a nuisance which can bloody well wait. Eventually - at no great expense (for Filipino wages are notoriously low) - they got around to me. Whereupon I repeated my previous protestations.
Even better news this time!! Not only was the bill issued in error, but in fact, they owe ME a refund of $30. All taken care of now Sir, is there anything else I can assist you with Sir?
Great [thumbsup].
As promised, one month later Telstra sent me a credit.
For $1357.68 ;D
Now, as you all have figured out - but not apparently Telstra - a credit isn't much use when you no longer have any account against which to offset such a thing.
I called 'em again. Happy to wait this time for the fun I would have about my $1357.68 [evil]. I won't bore you with the hold music, you all know how important.......... So, my Filipino friend checked my (closed) account and confirmed that they had applied the $1357.68 credit.... understood how this would be hard to avail myself of and confirmed that they'd post me a cheque for the $1357.68 they owe me. All taken care of now Sir, is there anything else I can assist you with Sir?
[laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
One month later Telstra sent me.... a letter.
A letter explaining in great apologetic detail how they had - wait for it - made a mistake :o. There would be no $1357.68 credit after all. All signed with a real pen by the Regional Manager for Corporate make the beast with two backsups.
Well who knew? ;) [bang] [laugh] [laugh]
A month later they sent me another bill [laugh]

No. No paper. It looks like they just plugged my email into someone else's account. So I get to see how much they owe.
