So there is an exhaust hanger on my 2013 Evo that appears to be made out of very thin steel. It is the one in front of the flapper valve. I am not certain why this particular piece of metal offends me but it does. Somehow it seems quite cheap inexpensive. It is also a part that could be readily made by anyone with a bit of CnC knowledge. That being someone other than myself of course......
Thoughts, ideas, I need one.
Are you talking about the evo-tech hanger you bought?
No the exhaust hanger under the bike. It is s tiny thin stamped metal bracket. Looks like it would rust away given a cup of water.
ebay it?
if you are referring to the bracket which supports the pipe via a couple of vibration isolator pads I can think of two options. The first is to replicate it with an aluminum billet chunk. An easier option is to remove, clean, prep and paint it satin black or silver.
Personally, I find the flapper housing much more offensive.
Yeah I don't like the flapper housing. I am afraid to pull it off though as I am in California...........

Don't Like it? Lose it!
What part of CA?
You need/want 696 midpipe...I have 696 midpipe. Coincidentally, I think it has your name on it.
your problems have been solved.

Yes I have a wee little balloon company. Probably easier to run with no pipe than deal with the business environment in California. [roll] But hey at least we can ride4 most of the year and split lanes at will so not all is bad [Dolph]

If it will fit my 2013 11Evo, I will pay pal the cash! Just send a pm.
evo won't take 696 midpipe
Raux, that's what I thought. There have been a couple of threads regarding some welding Evo mid pipes. Hmm another aftermarket opportunity?
Spark...
is your EVO aftermarket midpipe opportunity [thumbsup]
Coz I know how you like additional spending avenues [evil]
^^^ Yeah what he said!^^^ Make sure it has the same finish though! Tell ya, I am tempted to go to a local fabricator and make a slew of them......... Sadly I am way to involved in getting the worlds first offshore aircraft carrier for launching and landing hot air balloons through USCG approval.....
I've found the best way to match Ducati pipes is buy spare pipes from ebay and cut and weld those.
sbk's have the needed larger diameter pipes for joined areas
When I was looking into the Evo exhaust swap my idea was to cut out the section that housed the flapper, weld in a standard pipe (think it was about 2 1/4" if I recall) then ceramic coat the whole thing black. Clean with no flapper and looks boobies [thumbsup]
likely will need a Duc.ee if they are available for the EVO
no flapper= ecu error
When I did my DP flash with Motowheels they cut out the o2 sensors and flapper. No Duc ee [thumbsup]
I'm fairly lazy and thought just removing the shaft and extraneous bracketry and plugging the shaft holes was the easiest method instead of fiddling with replacement pipes which may or may not match.

Nice!
Thanks. BTW, that exhaust shield is a prototype. I'm going to stay with that concept on the final product but with a few changes.
Saw your new bike pic and am extremely jealous. [thumbsup]
Thanks! What you did is just what I was planning for my 09 monster until some jerk made me get a 696 midpipe. You did a very clean job!
get a close up pic of what your talking about and If it's not too dificult I may be able to make you one from some scrap alum. at the shop some weekend.(I'm a CNC programmer). I also have a 2013 m1100 so I can check the fitment.
