Post by: 118811 on August 26, 2013, 10:57:40 AM
My buddy has a 04 S4R and needs to service his rear shock...or he is contemplating getting
A new setup altogether .
What would you guys suggest?

Thanks

Ohlins is the usual.

Penske is good as well.

A bit less money to get the OEM unit serviced, would be a good time to put a proper spring on.

Go with the Penske.  I ordered mine (I have an '04 S4R as well) from Cogent Dynamics.  Great people/service.  I sent my fork tubes to them as well and had Penske guts put in.

Ohlins is nice, but pricey and could be a bit more stiff than what he's looking for.  The Penske is a great shock for the street and track.

I'm very happy with my decision.
