Title: Replaced stock mirrors, what to do about screw holes?
Post by: MidnightRambler on August 26, 2013, 07:06:34 PM
Sorry if this has been asked before but the search results for anything related to "mirrors" on this forum is impossible to wade through. I put a set of bar end mirrors on my 696 but am left with the stock mounting positions having open screw holes.  Are there smooth replacement brackets that can be swapped out?

Thanks

Get a ram-mount ball that threads into it.

Threaded base Pez dispenser?

Bobble head of Nicky Hayden?

Mini running lights?

Camera mount?

Mac 10 mounts?

or just a simple bolt would probably suffice...

Chris at "desmoworld.de" has the nicest answer to that small problem, he now produces in two different sizes (old and new style mirrors) pairs of press in anodized buttons... [bow_down]

I saw them recently whilst visiting him, very trick... [thumbsup]

ASV rotating bar clamps are a good investment; they rotate on impact preventing a broken lever or reservoir.  They look pretty good too [thumbsup]

Very fancy but do they dance a little when you come to a stop? I think not.

Thanks for all the input.  I'll probably get rivets or plugs for daily riding and a set of hula girls for special occasions. [Dolph]

All kinds of black circular covers at Home Depot that will fit in the hole (and with a little bit of glue stay there). Cost ..under $2

What size plugs though? I got 1/2" from lowes and they are to big. I have a 2005 Ducati Monster 1000DS.
