Austin just started charging for grocery bags a few months ago if you don't bring your own..including WalMart.

DC does it as well as Montgomery County, MD...the state of MD is considering it statewide...the claim behind it is due to bags and degradation in the dumps and sewage system issues and yadda yadda yadda.....

Why now sue the maker of the cans that caused the cut? I mean WTF were they made of? Polonium?!? Asbestos??? Flesh Eating Bacteria?!?

Cows goats etc eat plastic bags in trashs and die as it gets stuck in their stomach.  Garbage is full of plastics that also ends in the oceans and kills...  Maybe charging us will reduce the garbage.
