Took roughly a 200 mile ride today. Saw lots of places some familiar and some new. Got some good pictures and some good panoramas thanks to a Sony P&S camera that does in-camera panoramas!
Route: Backroads from Waynesville to Marshall then NC208 & 212 into TN, back into NC on Clear Branch & US19W, crossed over to the Toe River & NC197 on Huntingdale Rd, then along the Toe River for a bit to NC197 into Burnsville. Kept following NC197 and a couple local backroads to drop right onto Merrimon Ave in Asheville. 20 minutes of I-40 home. Good Ride.
Began my day crossing a local ridge. Looking into the Sandy Mush Valley:

Love your ride reports, JM. Always lots of great pics. I just don't get how you can keep stopping to take a pic!
Also, love to see a fellow yellow Duc out there. [thumbsup]
Leaves can be a pregnant dog also. Second most slippery thing after ice [Dolph]
Excellent pics JM. With the possible exception of the Madison Natural Foods store, your pictures of Marshall look like they could have been taken in the 1950s.
Yea, leaves can be super slick. Lots of wiggles here and there from them!
I did think it was cool the Madison Foods folks left the original American Motors sign intact!

+1 for sure. Beautiful.
The grass appears a shade greener than down here.

Leaves and my real peave that really cranks my ars, cut grass thrown by lawn mowers. I take it personal
as nature has nothing to do with it.
Can't wait to get the time to travel to places like this, beautiful.

JM, I was supposed to be up in Franklin Friday night but my buddy's bike was having problems so we scrapped it. Now I wish I'd gone by myself.
Hoping to be going up to Franklin Friday the 18th and will hit you up to see if you wanna show a few of us around.
