I call double BS on NYC... do you really want to call that hell hole 'honest' a couple years after lying, cheating, and general douchebaggery crashed the economy?

If I found a wallet laying on the ground, not returning it would not be an indication of honesty... more an indication of kindness.  Granted, when I was hiking Pikes Peak I found a cell phone.  I called "Mom" and returned the phone to the address she provided.

I once got into a cab and found a wallet with about $500 in it -- all 10s and 20s.  I got the feeling the guy was a bartender.

There was no information for his home phone, and there was no way to figure out what his phone was.  But there was a card for Connolly's in midtown.

I called and sure enough, he worked there, and the VERY irish manager gave a loud "jesusmaryandjoseph!" on the phone.. "that boy's been crying over losin' that wallet!"

Felt good.

There are like 10 Connolly's in midtown?  How did you get the right one?

I've found a few wallets in my time and have returned them except for one. While living in Portland I found one and all it had in it was about $150 and this picture: (http://www.jesuspictures.co/sacredheartofjesus1.jpg)

I was not making a lot of money at the time so I figured it was a gift.

It was the number on the card.  I assume each one has its own cards.

When I moved to downtown the family was on vacation and I rode my bicycle across town for some lunch. When I got there I realized I'd dropped my wallet. I rode back home then back to the diner to no avail. Called and cancelled all my cards and realized I was out like $50. Next day these 2 women came by the house with my wallet they'd found in the street. They used the address off my license. I tried to give them the money out of it in thanks and wouldn't have any of it. I like to think I'd do the same thing.

One of the Brazilian Chef's at my work lost her wallet at Manly a beach suburb where she lived.

A few days later it turned up in the mail , the finder doing the right thing used her address on her drivers license
All the cards were there but the money was gone  [roll]
In its place was someones sense of humour instead .................. all their pubic hair  [laugh]
Brazilian get it  ;D

I'd rather have my cards and documents than the money.

I just noticed something, they didn't try this experiment in Australia. I wonder why ...   ???  Maybe it has something to do with it being a formal English penal colony ...   [evil] [laugh]

The family and I went to muscle beach last weekend.  Pretty shady crowd up that way.  I would say your wallet may have been taken rather than lost.

I found a wallet a few years ago at the Renaissance Fair near Phoenix.  The license was in it so I ended up taking it to her house which was only a few miles away.

Three times in 15 years [roll].

I left my wallet in a cart at the grocery store. The next guy that used it knew me. In a city of 200K thats kind of crazy.

I lost it and it was turned in to the PD where I lost it. With my police ID. They made me make an apt to get it back and gave it back to me in a bag. They searched it and put the contents loose in the bag. WTF?

Lost it and a young couple brought it to my house. Gave it back and then told me I should give them some money.

Probably left it laying out as I have always been a front pocket carrier for that reason.

Muscle beach, is it still as interestingly weird as ever, haven't been there since the late 70's.   lived on the Venice section of PCH.
