I did a complete overhaul of the engine, lightened everything that could be mounted on the cylinder and piston 944 DUCATI ST2 (I re-configuration cooling oil), the KEIHIN FCR 39, preparation of heads and an ignition IGNITECH housing.
Thank you I was not sure I put in the right place ;D
Welcome to a great forum.
So what exactly did you do in the overhaul? You use an ST2 top end?
Nice carbs by the way.
Before?
Gracious that bike was clean and in pretty fine shape 'before' considering it's old enough to vote

I kept the original heads, and just condemn the H ² O circuit and open the oil circuit as the original cylinders.
I can do a tutorial if you want :)
You win 40 cc, and you up your compression ratio of 10.5/1 [thumbsup]

Beautiful! [clap] Love this custom battery/coil/Ignitech box.
That is it starts, but I need to change the O-rings RCF, it leaks badly.
Otherwise before you start, I did run the engine without the candles to bring up the oil, then I controlled via rocker that traps oil rose well.

I like the wiring... it always looks like that at that stage your on the rigth track....... [popcorn]
Also you may need to put a groud wire (AWG 14 size is ok)from one of the 2 bolts of the M-Unit to the frame.... the black wire that goes to the batery is not enough. Your m-unit seams to be bolted to a painted steel plate you sould be ok but just in case , the info may be ussefull.. [thumbsup]
Epic job [thumbsup]
Nice. I just finished taking mine all apart last week. Waiting for the frame to be painted then I get to put it all back together slowly lol.
Good luck with the wiring. That's one thing that scares me with trying to work on. I can do all the mechanical stuff, but wiring just confuses the hell out of me.
@ducatigirl100 --------> I will put other larger mass cables connected to the frame of the motorcycle [thumbsup]
Igor900--------> It just needs to be well documented before you start and follow what some have already done and after all becomes simpler.
Otherwise I have almost finished the electricity of the motorcycle and I will disassemble everything to send the frame and the wheels in paint.
And I said goodbye to my Keihin FCR 39 ...... welcome Mikuni TDMR 40

Instead of the spaghetti system!
My spaghetti exhaust manifold is in diameter 40/35 and with the engine configuration that I currently have and the limits are too quickly found.
Is the 2 into 1 a 45mm diameter? Maybe add a second muffler like an 1100Evo style with 50mm junction?
45/45 and junction 54 ;)
I'm going to keep this exhaust muffler but I'm going to change the junction between him and the exhaust manifold.
The picture I put is just a blank montage to ride with the bike.
I really feel better at the top, it does not fade anymore and pulls much better.
I find myself with two exhaust pipes not found, I really hesitate to sell or keep the spaguetti.
or I expose it in my garage ;D

The bike must feel very light.
The rear brake must be strong now? 4 piston caliper?
In fact, it has become quite light and very pleasant to drive, even astonishing.
The rear brake caliper is a 4 piston DISCACCIATI and now it brakes correctly, see too much if you are not careful.
brilliant! love the colours!
My friend who paints my motorcycles for me is going to redo a front mudguard and then he will make me a black tank + seat cowl + front mudguard set in the same style as the yellow one.
Then they just gave me an M900 frame with the registration papers and seen all the parts I have aside I think I'll get one to go to work.
Just ........ wow.

Bravo. Encore please. [popcorn]

I am going to build a new engine for a new monster.
Motorcycle intended to do a bit of everything, go to work, take a walk with my wife, travel nomadically and do the French road rally championship
The yellow I roll everywhere in France and Europe between two covid ;D
I will have a specific support for the rear brake caliper machined for the yellow one soon.

We'll be watching :)
Hi Pepe
What specification for the new bikes motor? Compression ratio, carburettors, ignition, cams and valves?
Also what are your plans for the wheels, suspension and chassis? Are you planning a scrambler style for the rally?
For the engine it is being assembled here ----> https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8jUh3OAfZPIcYRdy7TRCgHfbCMP96LS8
For the engine specifications, nothing very complicated, Ducati 900SSie camshafts, 1mm squish, "cleaned" cylinder heads, all properly mounted, aiming for the highest possible compression ratio with the original pistons.
At the exhaust I will make a homemade 2/1
For ignition, an ignitech box with shifter and IAP sensor.
And finally for the carburetor I will put a single carburetor, a Mikuni HSR45 [evil]
For the "look" I no longer think from a monster but rather from a 900 supersport frame from 1994 that I amputated to keep only the front.
900 monster fork modified with a classic swingarm with two shock absorbers.
A large handlebar for maneuverability, DUCATI 800 scrambler wheels.
Here's a bit of an outline ;D
A very interesting project [thumbsup].
Are you making your own 2 into 1 manifold or is there a manifold kit with the HSR?
Pepe design for frame, sub frame and twin shock swingarm sounds very interesting.
Anticipating a report with pictures. ;D
Nothing exists, I'm going to make everything, it will be long but good ;D
Obviously there will be plenty of photos [beer]
Look forward to it.
A few years ago, before Covid, I was talking to someone who wanted to use a HSR 42 carb on a 2 into 1 manifold on a 900 desmodue. They were looking for an affordable option to the very expensive Keihin FCR carbs. I don't think they ever finished the project. It will be great to see how you fabricate a solution for the manifold.
I plan to start with two original intake pipes then two rubber sleeves then the rest will be a prototype in 3D printing and machining to finish
Looking forward to seeing your solution. [beer]
the idea is to make a Harley Davidson type assembly
Good annual wash ;D

Love the license plate.
I love Mickey ;D
I mounted a wide band lambda probe with an Innovates Motorsport display to correctly adjust the carburation of the monster.

I welded a tapping to mount the probe

I printed a support in ABS

And finally assembly on the motorcycle

Excellent! [beer]
Your tuning data will be valuable for the TDMR40.
I hear rumours that Keihin has scaled back carburettor production and planning to cease all carburettor production. Therefore the Mikuni TDMR40 will be the only downdraught carb tuning option besides oem.
Hello everyone
It's been a long time since I put anything here.
Since then I opened a youtube channel with lots of tutorials and other things on DUCATI, a bit like my website, I let you watch for
https://www.youtube.com/@DesmodueGarage
The bike has evolved again, I don't know if one day it will stop.
I'll let you guess the evolutions.

Brakes. Fork. Probably more [laugh]
Thanks for the youtube link [thumbsup]
Maybe you will one day stop, but the bike itself will never be finished [Dolph]
Seat cover back on. New front fender (because of the new fork?)
Yes, a bit of all that has been changed
Indeed I was forced to change the front fender
It's true that it will never be finished [laugh]
Welcome back and congrats on your channel.
For a long time I wanted to create a tutorial channel on our "old" Ducati
To share what I do on Ducatis, mine and those of my friends
Bravo [clap] [beer]
[thumbsup]
