I have been looking for paint codes for my '97 m900, specifically the bronze frame and silver engine casing paint.
I have called up several dealers in my area, but no luck. And after much lurking here, I checked out the much referenced colorrite. And found it does not have any match for my year and model, though they do have some paints from other models that might match?

And then I stumbled across RS Bikepaint. They do have matches but I have never heard of them before, and it almost seems to good to be true.

I have no experience with them, but like colorrite their prices are pretty high. $20 is a lot for a rattle can IMO.
There are no matches in the US for that frame color since colorrite dropped the early model frame color.
I would contact this company regarding shipping costs as it appears they're in the UK.
I'd also contact colorrite and see if they'd be able to supply a can of the color you need.

I am looking to prep and paint my frame and engine casing (which are stained from battery acid) without removing from the bike.
RS Bike Paint claims that they match all their colors to original panels and samples, so hopefully that wouldn't be an issue. But if I purchase from them I'm thinking of getting their paint by the 1/2 pint rather than aerosol since its more expensive to ship the aerosol ( paint+lacquer= $105, +shipping to NY is an extra 38$. )

or, a Harborfreight HVLP sprayer such as this;

Speaking of paint, I have a couple of chips on my swing arm and have been trying to find something to use to touch the up. I was told that a PPG paint was the right color and was given a code, butt I can not only not find that code on the internet, butt I can't find a source for PPG vehicle touch up paint in general!
Tamiya model acrylic is the best I have done so far, and I'm not very confident in it!

You need to ask your question in the link posted a couple up.
Short answer....
The issue is the code you have is a PPG 'World' color and most US outlets simply don't deal with that PPG paint line.
Look into NEXA.
Ok, so my plan is to repaint this entire side of the frame with the OEM paint, without disassembly of the bike. I've read through the majority of the 57 pages of "DIY Paint" thread and this is what i've gathered. As a novice painter i'd just like to clarify, so here is my plan for painting the frame;
1) Sand the acid stained spots down the bare frame and feather edges.
2) Rough up the rest of the frame's good paint with a scotchbrite, and degrease. (repeat x2)
3) Patch prime exposed frame areas (will any primer will do?), flash dry for 10-15mins and then paint
4) First paint coat layer should be quick and thin.
5) Second layer should be heavier and hit all prepared areas
6) Apply 3rd coat if needed? Let dry for several days
Should I clearcoat? If so, how long after final paint coat?
Am I missing anything?

Are you attempting to paint it with the frame still attached to everything? Or are you tearing it down?
I'm attempting to do it without tearing it down. Just going to dissasemble what I can and mask everything else, then hit what's visible of the frame.
You're probably already going to paint a small test patch first? To see how the new paint matches the existing well worn and probably faded paint? Or will you be able to more or less paint all of the visible parts of the frame so that a color mismatch won't be so evident?
I think you will get a lot better result using even a low end HVLP gun instead of one of those Preval things. Again, try it first on something like a piece of scrap metal.

Clear coat will be too glossy.
I would so tear that frame off and send it out for a new powder coat. IMO by the time you make it look "just" okay with touching ups there will be at least as many hours of work involved.
