Thought these detail pics of the superleggera were pretty cool. I still think $65K is way high, but I'm not saying I wouldn't own one if I could… [roll] [Dolph]

I'm fairly certain I could ride that bike to a full half of it's potential.

I honestly don't even think I could do that.

I might be capable of safely operating that bike. As far as what percentage of it's capability I could use...
Anyway, this article makes it a little clearer that what you're paying for is NRE (non-recurring engineering). All that crap like shaving 6 grams from the radiator cap, then they're only making enough for 500 bikes and perhaps a handful of spares. So yeah, that $65k price tag is only paying partly for the actual hardware... what you're really paying is those engineers' salaries.
That's one hell of a machine
What kind of calipers are on the front? They look sweet
it's a beauty for sure but I'm wondering if a cedici can be had cheaper - and the sound, oh the sound.

I'm sure you could find a deal on a D16 now but would you want to given all the engine problems that they have? Sweet OMG sound for sure but for how long? ( Not that I wouldn't mind finding out on someone else's nickle. )
Yep... you can pick one up for "only" 49 grand. ;D

I don't have high expectations for motor longevity when it's derived from MotoGP. Not something I'd be riding every day. 2-3 times a year haul it out to a trackday. The rest of the time it's on display, looking pretty.
I don't have high expectations for longevity from the Superleggera, either. Anytime you remove that much weight you sacrifice some durability. Look at the old magnesium side cases for the Pantah-derived motors. Those had a finite lifespan before they were expected to crack.
