Title: Awesome homemade gift
Post by: DucDucGoos on December 21, 2013, 12:24:55 AM
So wasn't sure what to get for Christmas, so I ended up doing a painting. Thought I'd share the progress:

It's taking a little longer then I thought it would, so hopefully can get it done by Christmas :) :)

Nice. I'm jealous of people with painting/drawing abilities.
I don't think it's something you should rush. If it's not done by this Christmas then maybe it's a birthday present?

I def think I can get it done, I have all day today, tomorrow and Monday.. I'm planning to get as much done today that I can. The body isn't bad the wheel takes forever. I think I spent an hour on the tire, and 6 something hours on the wheel lol

Sorry to hear that after all the effort you put into a really nice personal gift. Not only do you have mechanical skills [thumbsup], but you are artistic and thoughtful.

If he doesn't appreciate you he isn't worthy of you, (that's what I tell my four daughters). :)

What an a hole!  Who dumps someone after a gift like that!  I'm sure you will have NO problem finding someone who is better for you.

Sorry to hear about that.  You will bounce back like a moon jumper though.  Gals with a passion for bikes are a commodity!  Toss in gorgeous and you are only going to be single as long as you want to be.

Here is a hint.  Avoid bad boys and anyone that likes rap, most thrive on treating women poorly.  Chin up!

I have a great gal and consider myself lucky, it is hard to find compatible people.

I love rap and I'm a pretty stand up guy, we're not all bad. ;)

If you're treating women badly, it probably has nothing to do with your musical preference.

To the OP, awesome work on the painting!! [thumbsup]

Sorry about the break-up, he'll be the one missing out!

The wheel and tire really do look great. Good Job. How is that other bike coming along, the one at the shop in the window?

The vintage Duc or the S2R? They're both torn apart. Need to go through the motor on the 350 and do misc wires and stuff, so hasn't made huge progress. The S2R is just waiting for the pistons to ship in!!

Didnt know you were doing something like that to the S2R. I hope this is a mod and not a repair.
Anyway yea I was talking about the 350.

Ummm.... errr.. kinda both.. I had to replace the rings on it, and figured esp price wise it was best to upgrade to high compression :)

I will have to see about taking a day off and going to start the 350 and snap some pics for here :)

True...but turkey bacon is supposed to be 'good' for you if you choose to eat meat.

Bacon...and candy...

are not supposed to be 'good' for you.

We make a candy with Agave Nectar for farmers markets but it tends to he a little gooey and sticky so its not something we have a label for.

Anyway I went to California for a week or so, ill ship you some when I get back.

I wasn't happy with the agave anyway. So far nothing works as well as Cane Sugar. At least not for brittle.
