I am looking to replace my front brake master cylinder and the reservoir on my 2000 Ducati Monster m750. I found a nice used master cylinder but its from a 2004 monster 620. I was wondering if the clamp will fit on my stock handlebars. Everything I have found says that the master cylinder from the 620 is 7/8", but I have been unable to find any real info on the dyameter of my m750 handlebars. THanks for any help with the search.
Same diameter [thumbsup]
Does your bike have one or two discs?
Thanks for the info. My bike has 1 disk on the front.
That master cylinder may, or may not, have the correct size piston.
Some '04 620's had one disc, some had two.
Usual size for single disc is 13mm piston, dual disc is 15mm or 16mm depending on.... ah.... whatever was offered as a good deal by Brembo, I imagine.
I've run my single-disc M750 with a 16mm piston master, and it works.
But lever effort is high and feel is wooden.
I'm running a 13mm now, it's better than the 16, but I'd run a 14 if they existed.
hhhmmmm...if it comes from a bike with two disks will the piston not be strong enough to drive the cylindar?
Edited my previous post ^^^^
ok I got it thanks, I find out what size it has. Thanks again
