This is a real time world wind map - very interesting if you have an interest in weather.
That really blows, Warren.
:D
What elevation is this being measured at?
Adding some topography would be neat although I mentally inserted the Rockies, Adirondacks and Appalachians.
Being a balloon pilot this map has been on my link list since it came out. It is a great way to see airflow. Those of us with a strong weather background can see the high, lows and Rockies without trying. ;D
for anyone with a serious interest in winds, clouds, reading weather maps or forecasting (I don't get rained on when riding) this is a great place to start. http://www.srh.noaa.gov/jetstream/index.htm (http://www.srh.noaa.gov/jetstream/index.htm)
That is some unusual wind going on there.
The way the winds were blowing when I looked, Michigan looked like a toilet. [laugh]
Toilet is in northern Quebec now.
It has been interesting to watch as this storm system rolls through!

Cool site
It would be cool if it loaded in less than 4 petabits...
Very interesting! Thanks.
