Hi, I'm Tom, from Brooklyn. In September, when my buddy heard I was getting divorced, he handed me the keys to his '00 M750 (that he picked up when he got divorced). Got my permit the next day, my endorsement three days later, picked the bike up from his place upstate the following weekend. Between daily commutes into Manhattan and weekend rides, I've got 3000 miles under my belt and am thoroughly obsessed.
Now that the weather has turned to complete and utter garbage, I've got a winter full of weekend projects coming up: SBK fork swap, Hagon rear shock, SS braided brake & clutch lines, Oberon clutch slave cylinder, Barnett clutch plates & springs, Danmoto 180 cockpit, carb clean & Factory Pro jet kit, fuel filter/hoses and a bunch of other little odds and ends. It's already got new rubber, bars, levers & a tail chop.
Here she is on her way down from upstate, sporting custom paint from the first owner, otherwise unmolested:

Can't go wrong with candy red and black, congrats.
Welcome aboard.
FYI - There is a NY-area DESMO club that does rides, a track day, a summer BBQ, etc. I've been to a few events and found it to be a laid back, mature group of guys (no squids). Might check it out (free to join) if you're looking to connect with other local riders:
