Title: New Monster owner from N. California
Post by: motodoc on January 12, 2014, 11:56:37 AM
My name is Jack Azevedo.  I live and work in Chico, CA.  I'm a professor type at Chico State.  I raced motocross in the 70's.  But life got in the way and I had to get serious about career stuff.  In the last couple of years, I've been going to motogp with a couple of buddies both of whom have Monsters.  I got to ride a Monster for almost an entire weekend last year.  I was hooked!  I recently purchased my own Monster.  A 1999 750 with only 8500 miles.  The original tires were still on it!  I had some initial work done to make it "ship-shape" and have a few things to follow up with.  It's GORGEOUS (yellow) and a BLAST to ride!  My first ride was up highway 1 in Marin county.  What a first ride on my Duc!  The previous owner added a few things to it to upgrade it such as dual front disks, clip-ons and a tach (and some carbon fiber bits).

I'm currently rebuilding the stock forks so I'll post a question about that later.

Glad to be here!

Jack
