Title: Does anyone know where I can buy a roadracing exhaust?

I found this website garuda.ws but I don't think they have any left.

As noted, they have been out of business for a long while. You'll just have to hunt and get lucky and pay up - it won't be cheap.

The closest thing in current or recent production would be the Ex-Box from Quat-D

I think Boom Tubes are a nice option too, if their waiting list isn't a mile long.

There was a NOS one in the classifieds here a few months back..I already own one and I was still drooling. I wish someone would resurrect Roadracing similar to the way Cyclecat was. Weirdest thing about RR is they are literally hosts now...nobody seems to know who the owners and R&D people were and what happened to them. That's bizarre in such a small, devoted and close community like ours.

The sound of that exhaust is hot hot hot.  [evil] looks sweet too. I'll never give mine up.

I'm still surprised no one is making duplicates of their exhaust, unless of course it just didn't work very well.

I felt like it gave my 750 a performance lift, but who really knows. No clue how it stacks up against the 900ss headers since I've only known the RR on it.

On my 900, I had access to a dyno as I went through my mods. I bought it with the RR system on it but scored a 2/1 Galasetti here because although I don't mind loud, the RR was kind of loud AND unpleasant. Suffice it to say, a termi it's not.

As the mods progressed, the RR had 4-5 more ft/lbs in the low mid range and the Galasetti a few more HP on top, both with the OEM carbs and the FCRs.

Based on that, the RR suits the way I ride the monster better so I kept it on.

Been a long time so I can't remember the exact numbers. Maybe I can dig the printouts up next time I'm at my storage.

Have to respectfully disagree on the sound. I'll have to make a better vid than the one I have to poll the forum with. To each their own but what you hear as unpleasant I hear as throaty, deep and straight up MEAN.

I also don't quite understand why so many peeps think it's so loud. I find it to be only slightly louder than chopped and cored OEM cans. *shrug*

I loved the look on my 900, but got rid of them as they were far too loud and not pleasant to my ear at all. I went back to the CF micron exhaust I had, which sounds so much better.

I literally gave them away when I traded my wife's 2000 monster 900 for an ST2.

I do miss the look however.

Ah, I see. Very similar. A bit gaudy imo.

Well, I agree that it's certainly not as cool as hand grenade decals, but I like how it was a nod to the style of many of the old classic bikes with chrome tanks.

I think it certainly could look gaudy if one were to add a lot of other chrome items, but that certainly wasn't what I was interested in and preferred a more minimalist look.

Regardless, everyone is certainly entitled to an opinion.

Oh, the fun that I'm not allowed to have with you.  :'(

OP: Keep an eye on eBay for your RR exhaust. Since this exhaust hurts so many hearing aids and keeps people up after 9:30pm, it pops up quite often there and in the forum classifieds.

Hey, not everyone likes the same stuff, that's what makes this place interesting.

You bagged on something he liked, and he returned the favor.

Don't get all wound up about it, eh?

The bike (and tank) in the picture is mine.

The bike I traded (my wife's) was a 2000 monster I bought crashed and rebuilt. She wasn't riding it and it was a nice, equal trade for an ST2. I threw in the RR exhaust because I wasn't ever going to use it again. I don't imagine I will ever get rid of my monster.

You decided to share your "off hand" opinion that you think the cromo tank is gaudy. In the spirit of glass house living, I decided to return the favour with a remark about grenade stickers. I would have thought that was a fun tit for tat we both could have laughed at and left it at, but it appeared to bother you enough to PM me asking me  if my "picture is serious"? I'm not sure what that has to do with our lack of appreciation for each other's fuel tanks.

As for "having fun", if that's what floats your boat, please don't hold back on my account.

Def not bothered or wound up my friend. I had a laugh at your expense and trolled you a bit because it's obvious you take yourself a bit too seriously. I have rainbow colored gay pride stickers on my car fer chrissakes, so if I got upset every time someone didn't like a grenade decal I'd be having a bad day every day, lol. You really weren't even on my mind when I made my candid comment about the tank. It was an opinion about the cromo and RR tanks...not a direct insult about YOUR bike. Understanding me here? :) cheers  [beer]

Perhaps your projecting a little, no?

I could make the same leaps of perception and logic you're choosing to make here.

here, let me try:

You posted how great the RR exhaust sounds. I mentioned I thought the RR exhaust didn't sound very nice, but that I loved the look and I posted a pic. You weren't even on my mind when I made my candid comment about the RR exhaust. You made a comment that you thought the cromo tank was gaudy, because you obviously take yourself "a bit too seriously" and so I mentioned your grenade stickers to have a little "laugh at your expense".

Understand me here?

You know, I would have bought your post above if you hadn't PM'd out of the blue to ask me: "Were you being serious when you posed for that profile pic?"

That doesn't seem to be the behaviour of someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously. It sounds more like someone who likes to dish it, but isn't too fond of taking it.

BTW, I'm glad you support gay folk, we need more tolerance in the world.

Apologies to the readers who could not give a flying rats arse here...last comment about the subject.

Hrrmm...there seems to be a little misunderstanding here, and your logic doesn't float. I never assumed you were insulting my choice in bling when you said you didn't like the sound of the RR exhaust. A better example of would be if I'd started poking fun at your tank top after you said you didn't like the sound of the exhaust. You seemed to take offense at the comment about the cromo tank where none was intended, and you tried to retaliate with a passive aggressive comment about grenade decals. I've learned that my perceptions are wrong a LOT of the time, I'm too quick to assume, but 2 people actually messaged me to basically say; "whoa, is that dude serious??" I'm candid to the point of being downright tacky, on the webz and IRL, I'll admit that. That's besides the point though, you can't conflate the "gaudy" comment with the grenade decal comment. One may have been tacky at worst, the other was an obvious attempt at a snipe.

I'm not even trying to be all over analytical here, or seem like I'm all hot and bothered or insecure about the silly $1.50 decal I slapped on my murdered out tank...I just have a passion for logic and have to hammer it home whenever it's not being applied.

ahh, the old "two people me messaged  to say, is that dude serious?" argument, therefore I must be right. If you're passionate about logic you will know the logical fallacy here.

I've already been more than happy to admit my comment was a clear "snipe", it's unfortunate you won't do the same, especially after pm'ing, me out of the blue with a far more clear and insulting "snipe".

Just an observation:

In real life we can hear the tone of someones words.  The same word with different tones means different things.  Email, forums and the inter-webs in general lack tone.  That was the reason emoticons were invented.

That being said; Grenades stickers and Chrome tanks are both tacky and the only mods that look good on a Duc are mine.   [cheeky]

Oh and I bought a rainbow hot air balloon just because they legalized Gay Marriage for a minute in California.  Would'a done a ton of proposals and flying marriages.  [bang]

I don't spend much time in ACC&Mods...

but when a member pms me and asks me to tell people to STFU...

I pop in.

Who needs to be suspended?

Perhaps all of you. For some it would be permanent as we have a 3 strikes and your out policy.

As a judge once said to me...

"I'll take it under advisement"

In the meanwhile...this is done
