Might be a cool car, but the styling is about as boring as it gets. I almost nodded off looking at the photos!  [coffee]

Tommy Kendall drove it on 'Test Drive' and said you have to go test drive it.

Its a Holden Commodore.

http://www.holden.com.au/cars/commodore/sedan-range/ss-v-redline (http://www.holden.com.au/cars/commodore/sedan-range/ss-v-redline)

Enjoy it while it lasts.  Such a good car that GM will shortly have it killed along with their entire Australian production facilities.

We're told it's 2017 "replacement" will be a front-driver built in China.   Good luck with that GM  [roll].

That's it?

That's your in-depth analysis on the demise of the entire Australian automotive industry?

He demonstrates the same generalized prejudice that some hold towards motorcyclists.

i actually had a look at the eba for holden recently and although it was a while ago iirc 4th years were on about $60K before
other benefits of OT etc etc etc , do you reckon that is right ???

mits, ford, holden and toyota along with other manufacturing all going by the wayside

unions hold over business in so many forms , its not surpising they are closing up

of course there is other factors such as cheaper labour overseas

holden and the like have not done themselves any favours as well with providing a value for money product compared to what else is in the market and least of all customer service

it is unfortunate that none of them have evolved and provided what the consumer wants

You're right. The reasons for foreign vehicle manufacturers shutting up shop are manifold.

No one factor is to blame.

I could give you the dubious benefit of my opinion, but I like it here  ;)

You give 'em far too much credit IMO  [laugh]

They didn't miss any styling cues.   They just had a pre-existing vehicle looking for a wider market....  Probably figured calling it Chevy SS would sell better than Buick Kangaroo  ;D

In the 70's and 80's we had brightly colored Hwy Patrol cars in Yellow and orange (including '70's 5.8lt V8 Ford GT Falcon "Interceptors"). They quickly got the nickname "candy cars". For sure black and white looks a lot tougher. Those Interceptors were greatly feared however.
