I think it's patently deceptive to have those pics of people wearing the device, and they clearly have no geek/dork genes whatosever.

Doesn't wearing one instantly makes you a dork?

No, it makes you a glasshole.
I did not see him in the linked website.
I will see your dork, and raise you a PYT:

Like I said, deceptive.
Am I the only one that thinks these glasses are stupid?
$1500? I'll pass until it comes to the realm of reality.

And as a motorcyclist/bicyclist/driver/living being who'd prefer to stay that way for a while yet, think the idea of making it even easier for drivers to Facebook & YouTube it up behind the wheel is terrifying?

I am sure there will be a hack soon enough.

And if there is, I'd rather have a driver doing so over a HUD than looking down at the smartphone in their lap.

What privacy? You already have a phone with a camera and a GPS tracker in it.

No cell phones at all in your house? That makes you part of a very small minority.

I hate phones-people call me on 'em.
Whats this thing supposed to do that is beneficial?
it's a kind of birth control thingy

Well that could be worth every penny of $1,500.
I guess I will have to get one then.

Hrrrmmm... Augmented Reality sounds like something that's been around for quite a while. ;D
You techno-geeks love 'em.
Us Luddites hate 'em.
Never the twain shall meet.
I saw 2 different people wearing them in the half marathon I ran in over the weekend....
Google Glass is kinda like a bluetooth you leave in your ear all day. It screams "Look at how important I think I am". Unless you are getting paid for being on the phone it's just dumb.
I will never forget seeing these two people get out of a crappy car with no paint left on it, both wearing bluetooths......
That being said HUDS are neat and I am looking forward to trying a Skully helmet. Not for the phone but for the navigation. In fact I turn my phone off while riding despite having a Cardo G9 Bluetooth setup.

Agreed. I'm looking forward to it to, for the rear view camera primarily. But seriously, when are they going to release it? They said BETA testing was supposed to start in February. As far as I know, no one has been contacted about them yet...

I signed up for the Beta and got an email confirmation (two months later) that I was signed up. It was the last I heard about it though.
I tried to look attractive to them by writing an essay about my 32 years of riding sport bikes but if I had to venture a guess all the Beta units will go to industry types and not us normal folks.

Yeah, I did the same thing. Tried to justify it with 150+mile daily commute.
I'm not holding my breath...
I signed up as well but I think the chances are low I'd be included in the beta.
So, I basically said "these helmets are awesome, I'm awesome, make the beast with two backsing send me one"
;D

I told them I'd single-handedly revive the whole Harlem Shake thing if they let me beta one.
