Just curious who's going to the MotoGp in Austin?? I'm flying in and hope to see some of ya there :)
I will be there. I had a great time last year. I'm really going to missing riding up to Laguna Seca this year. Fun times at Seca.
Check out the DFW and TX hill country boards in local boards. There are a few going. I'm missing living in a South Austin reading this.
If you see Iz with a camera RUN.

Have you ever driven/ridden that route? If not, be aware that there are quite a few longgg stretches of nothing..El Paso to Fredericksburg, in particular.
I drove it twice a few months ago moving from Austin to Irvine. Keep an eye out for deer..especially at night from F'berg to Austin..they're everywhere. There were two herds of elk walking across the 290 the last trip. That was in the middle of the day. Once you hit F'burg though, the TX hill country is a fun place to ride! [thumbsup]
if you're gonna ride try the route via Flagstaff and through Northern NM/Southern CO. Once you hit Dumas, TX, it sucks until you reach San Angelo but it's a better ride than all the way down I-10. You might try Cloudcroft or Almogordo, NM, route too.
I guess some of my friends are driving down for a vintage show in Austin the same weekend, so they're going to bring one of my bikes down to mob :) :) :)
I'll be there. [coffee]
I'm going =).
I'm still trying to see if I can schedule "meetings" with a client before or after so that my company takes care of at least the flight.
MUCH thanks for the tips and info [thumbsup]

Also, here is what I observed for getting to and from COTA.
As you know Laguna Seca has a dedicated entrance for motos. While COTA has dedicated lots, I didn't see a dedicated entrance or lane for moots.
Driving to COTA wasn't exactly organized and leaving the track was a complete cluster. They would divert traffic in a different a completely direction but there where no signs after that in which was to go to get to Austin. There was no rhyme or reason. On race day traffic was crazy and we came up seconds after a cager made a left turn in front of an on coming moto. Guy was on his feet quickly and lucky to be alive but his excellent race day was ruined. But the chaos and confusion of traffic was one of the major contributors to this accident. If the accident had been worse, I have no clue how the ambulance would have got there. COTA is in kind of in the middle non-dense residential area.
I am assuming COTA got a lot of negative feed back from their first event in regards to traffic(I gave them my opinion in survey) so hopefully they have improved their approach to traffic better this year.
Enjoy the ride if you take your bike.
