Title: Suburban Machinery M4 bars disc.
Post by: Radracer6 on March 14, 2014, 11:01:31 AM
I really wanted these bars for my Evo, they are a good medium bw clip ons and bars.
So i spoke to the folks at SM and they are no longer producing the M4 bars for the monster 1100.  I'm wondering if there's a shop that can em off the dimensions he posted on his site

You should not have a problem getting those built.  Were I you I would look for 4x4 fabricators as they will have the ability to make the proper cuts.

Oh and get out your wallet.   ;)

If you made a jig to locate/hold the pieces in place for tacking, it would not be very expensive. Otherwise, the manhours for the fabricator to do it himself would probably end up costing more than a new bar price.

Another consideration for a fabricator would be a boat tower builder. They do beautiful work. Of course you would need to be near a deep water fishing area. Third suggestion for a fabricator would be a certified welder at a small airport. In any case, the key would be for you to provide the jig/fixture.

I had those on my SV.  Personally, I'd stick with the stock bars.  Made the bike a bit harder to turn and less comfortable... but it looked pregnant dogin!

Take a look at the Speedy Moto bars, they aren't like normal clip ons. The bar ends up concentric with the fork tubes with adjustable angles and hight.

Yup. I tryed to use them on my Bimota butt the cables from the controls would have run straight into the fork tubes. They are designed for the Monster.'
