Title: Monster 695 - Ducati Corse Fairing Install?
Post by: Sonreir on March 22, 2014, 06:48:14 PM
Hey all,

Is anyone able to provide a bit of guidance on the fairing install on my M695?  I recently acquired a NOS Ducati Corse carbon fiber fairing (at least that's how it was advertised) and I'm having some fitment issues.  It didn't come with any instructions, so I've been doing a little bit of guess-work.

The bottom mounting holes are pretty obvious as it came with some hardware that fits right onto the bunny ears along with the headlight, but I'm a bit stumped on the upper mounts.  As you can see in the pics, the bolts are definitely not at the correct angle when I mount the supports in the pictured area.  I don't want to tighten anything down anymore as the fairing is already under a good bit of tension and I'm afraid of breaking it.  Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance...

I think I (sort of) figured it out.

In the first pic, the aluminum spacer I was using to push the signals out further needed to go on the brackets for the fairing, instead.  That said, it still wasn't a good fit, but it was better.

I ended up trimming about an inch off of the brackets as well as using my tubing bender to put a bit of a curve into them.
