i can hear the sustain from here. [thumbsup]
Does that mean that I have to wash the bike? [laugh]
Yep, yep, the noise contest was the bomb. I'm on YouTube somewhere makin' a racket. The best is when I stall the bike out trying to quietly exit through the throngs of people. ;D

Blue and Gold, through and through. But for me, Italian moto art (Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, and of course Ducati), it's gotta be red! My wardrobe has little red in it and I will only wear red whilst on my Ducati.
Roll on you Bears!

Notice that one (http://www.flickr.com/photos/30869581@N00/442771550/) of my bikes is blue and the other (http://www.flickr.com/photos/30869581@N00/640553894/) is gold...not a coincidence ;D
But hey, as long as you take off that red shirt when you're helping us tear down the Stanfurd goalposts [thumbsup]

i have some mondo cool staff tee shirts being screened up for this year's LDD ... so if anyone of the MOBsters wants to volunteer for parking duty (we need 4 volunteers for the parking ... two in morning from 9:30 - noon, then 2 in afternoon from noon - 2:30), there's a mondo ccol tee shirt and the feeling of absolute power directing parking in the front lot of the event.
pm me here if interested.

Definitly coming out this year, count me in.
I will not miss it, awesome Ducati's.
i know we did not do a monster challenge last year (or at least i don't remember, so sorry if there was one) ... so, i propose that the DMF hold a monster challenge ... one of the judges can be brian catterson (editor in chief at motorcyclist).
what say ye? can someone here on the DMF step forward (virtually) and take on the challenge of organizing the monster challenge?
we typically hold this event in the front parking area, just in front of the stores ... so we can block this area off for monsters only.
volunteers?

if your asking about volunteers for organizing/running the monster challenge, they will be something along the lines of:
1. promote the monster challenge to all monster owners in MOB and the socal forum (heck, perhaps the general monster forum, to reach more owners)
2. manage the parking in the morning @ LDD2008, so that the monster area in front of the event (the stores parking lot spaces) is used by monsters only)
3, pick the event judges (figure you have brian catterson as a guest judge)
4. formalize the judging scoring method you want to use for the event.
5. decide what categories of prizes you wan for the event.
6. get the prizes for the event (trophies, plaques, certificates, etc...)
7. decide what time the event will be judged, and what time the prizes will be awarded on the day of the event.
i'll be there.
john, no word from matt on needing help with the other stuff...let me know what the deal is with that.

I'm on the fence about attending this years' LDD but will try to make it up.
Any objections if I offer my services as a judge for the Monster Challenge?!? [evil]
Is this event kid friendly? Am thinking about bringing my 11 y.o. daughter, but don't know the crowd. Also not sure if I want to ride 2 up across the San Mateo bridge. Maybe I'll just drive the car, but was looking forward to riding. How's the car parking? There is food to purchase, isn't there?

This just in from johnc...
He just got off the phone w/ DNA, and they will be bringing a larger demo fleet to LDD2008.
They'll be bringing all the models, except for the 1098 line. They will have 848's, Monsters, Multistradas, Sport Classics, and the lot. But no 1098's. Oh, and of course, no D16RR demos. [cheeky]
This info was relayed via phone, to me, by john. (He's "having some login issues.")
Here's a dumb question, so don't beat up the newbie. What do you do with your helmet, jacket and gloves after you park? Carry them around all day?

It's not just the level of noise, but the quality of it. Give it a shot. I had a blast doing it last year. Somewhere there's a YouTube of me goofing off at the music challenge for LDD 2007. [thumbsup]

Any riders from the Marin area traveling down?
Will there be a group ride? ???
Or a mini-group ride? ???
Or is it boiling down to just a solitary group ride? ;D
I'm in San Mateo just off 101 if anyone wants to meet along the way ...
I'll post something later today
I have a coworker and a cousin both interested in checking this out, but since neither of them have bikes, we're talking about carpooling. So is this event even remotely "cage friendly"? In other words, if it is going to be impossible to park a car within miles of the place, then we'd likely pass on wasting gas and will not go at all. Any advice?
Thanks.
Enzo and I are at the track all weekend. You guys and gals have fun. This will be the first LDD I've missed in 3 or 4 years! Fun times, always. [thumbsup]

Have fun for me!!
