Title: Dirt bike bars
Post by: puddles on May 21, 2014, 07:06:01 AM
I have a couple extra KTM dirt bike handlebars and was thinking about trying them out on the duc. I have a 2000 900ie. I am having trouble finding 7/8 bar risers for the Ducati. Has anyone tried dirt bike bars? Suggestions?

2000 M900 came with 7/8" bars.

I think you're looking for riser adapters to allow fitment of 1 1/8" bars, yes?

Dirt bike oriented shops should have adapters.

I am running Pro taper Carmichael bars at the moment on my S2R1K plasti dipped black .
I had them in the shed luckily as I was getting the bike ready for a long trip and found my OEM bars
were cracked  :o , so had no time to replace them before the trip.

Im actually enjoying them they are a little wider with less sweep , once I got the angle right and re drilled the throttle nub hole
they are working well .

Did you use bar adapters like speedog's link?

When they were on Mrs Dogs 695 yes as they are tapered bars and 695 used standard.
On the S2R no need as OEM are already set up for the thicker bars.

So these mounts fit in (on top of) the stock mounts/risers?
