To those who gave all, I salute you, not on this day but every day.
Last week while waiting for my riding buddy to gas up his bike, I went over to this patched (military patches, specifically the Vietnam theater patch caught my eye) up Harley guy and thanked him for his service. We then got to chatting about his tour and my dad's tour over there. I asked if I could buy him a round of fuel and he declined.
I left and went over to my bike, when he was done he came walking over and said to make sure to tell my dad "Welcome home" I sure did. Called him when I got back, I could hear the smile on his face.
So for those who did not make it back, I salute you.
Both of my grandfathers are gone. Both were veterans. I think of them a lot. As chessy as Billy Ray was, this is a good thought.
Some gave all.

To all that made the ultimate sacrifice.

I sometimes forget. I'm grateful and every day throughout the year is Memorial Day. I also think we're not doing enough for those who did return and a "Thank you for your service" is a nice gesture but something is missing and we need to do more.
^^
These guys fought and died for us and our freedom. Saying "Thank you for your service" is nice but to do more we should treat America, our freedoms and each other a lot better than we are.
