Subject: Wednesday is Ride To Work Day
Email Forwards: Send to all media, all riders, all motorcycle/scooter dealers, etc. Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day is this Wednesday
Motorcycle and scooter riders' 17th annual commuting day is Wednesday, July 16th. Participation in the yearly demonstration is estimated to triple the number of riders on the road. Motorcycle and scooter groups and organizations actively encourage riders to commute by cycle on this day. On Ride to Work Day, motorcycle and scooter commuters seek improved employer recognition and support for this form of transportation and increased public and government awareness of the positive value of riding.
Adding more motorcycles and scooters to everyone's daily commute makes urban parking easier and traffic flow better, according to Ride to Work, a non-profit advocacy organization. Studies have also shown that across the same distances, motorcyclists reach their destinations faster than those using automobiles. Many motorcycles and scooters also consume less resources per mile than automobiles. "Riding to work on this day is fun and shows the positive value of motorcycling. For many people, riding is a socially responsible form of mobility that saves energy, helps the environment and provides a broad range of other public benefits," stated Andy Goldfine, this year's event organizer.
The Ride To Work website has been expanded with new features that include:
Secure credit card or PayPal purchases of Ride To Work merchandise.
A new forum to discuss Ride To Work issues and events.
A wholesale program available to dealers and retailers for reduced prices on larger purchases.
Show off your Every Day Ride on the website.

Doooood. Every day is ride to work day.
And if the bike didn't cost a billion dollars with mods, over $600 for a look see every 7500 mi., eat tires like I eat potato chips at over a buck fitty a piece and suck gas like a black hole you might could convince me that it economical.
And so far as motorcyclists reach their destinations faster than those using automobiles, the local cops call that driving too fast for conditions or unsafe operations. I still await my upcoming court date for that "benefit", which I'm told might cost me some jail time. [bang] [bang]
But like I said, every day is "ride to work day". ;D ;D
And life is gooooood!

In CA with lanesplitting, legal carpool lane useage, and filtering to the head of the line at lights, it's easy to get to work faster even at legal speeds. I ride in at 0430 hours. 14 minutes. On the way home at 1800 hours. 16-18 minutes. Not bad considering the freeway is going 15-30 MPH at 1800 hrs.
lol
everyday is ride to work day for me! it will be nice to see alot more bikes on the road on that day. [thumbsup]

I suppose I could take a break from my daily bicycle commute... :P
(Of course, if I do, I'll most likely take off from work early and go riding for five or six hours afterward. Motorcycles decrease productivity!)
since I ride most everyday i am gonna wheelie to work tomorow.... [evil]Just kidding... actually if I could I might [cheeky]
Dammit. Well if anyone can figure out how to fit a few thousand pounds of parts and tools on the back of my bike, I will gladly partake. Actually I did stuff a few key tools and the part I needed in a back pack and ride to one job today. Ahh guilty pleasures.......
..Everyday is ride to work day for me ;D
Alright...It's Wednesday who has a bike in the parking lot?
I DO.
I do [thumbsup]
Frack, I can't even believe I can't ride today. [bang] Waiting for an insurance adjuster
Retired, for now anyway. Should I bungie an attache case to the seat and fake it? ;D
I do!
[moto]

I did! I did! :D
Didn't see many other bikes tho - seemed like a normal weekday.
Monster's in the usual parking spot at work. Just like most other days. They should call this event, "Take the Trailer Queen to Work Day."
Yessir, third day this week. [thumbsup]

Special exception to the rules? [moto] Or are you being rebellious? [evil]
It is 90 degrees, the sky doesn't have a single cloud in it, and there are only two bikes in the lot... my daily driver, and my co-worker that lives within walking distance.
Our Mayor refused to sign the proclaimation participating, despite my best efforts.

Person who makes that rule isn't here today. ;D
And I'm being rebellious! [evil]
Brought the bike in to work today! [thumbsup]
Well I would have if I didn't allready have MOTOGP tickets and going to head on down today ;D
I guess it's kinda the same. Will be rideing, just not to work.
On my ride into work today I did notice a good bit of riders. The only other guy in the office who rides just had neck surgery but rode in anyways.
What a trooper. [leo]
I'm lame, i forgot, i brought the cage in hopes of getting time to break away and get her smogged today.
Don't think this is going to happen. And i don't have my baby. :(
I work from home, so does a quick coffee break ride in the local twisties this morning count? :)
i participated [moto]
It's so much easier to participate in these things when everyday is ride to work day [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
Rode to my Military Sportbike riders course today. Classroom portion was poor, but the range time was a blast. Now I just have to stop scraping my toes. [bang]
I'm retired, what should I do ?
I rode to work and honestly didn't see that many riders out. At least no more then usual. If I could I would ride to work everyday but I gotta drop my baby girl off at day care every morn and she's just too young to hold on (1 1/2 yrs old) ;D
