Title: Monster 796 Termignoni Slip on kit
Post by: accodata85 on June 14, 2014, 11:05:45 AM
Hi,
Can anyone tell me where the ECU on the monster 796 is located so i can switch for the one that comes with the termignoni slip on kit.  Also, after i install the ECU, slip on exhaust and air filter, is there any reprogramming of the bike that needs to be done or is it just a plug and play (pray) type of kit?
Thank you.  have searched all over for where the ecu is located and cannot find anything.

It's on top of the airbox, next to the battery, underneath the tank.

You'll need to re-set the TPS, I forget the procedure, but IIRC it's in your Owner's Manual.

No instructions delivered with the kit?

You'll have to reset everything in the instrument cluster via a service menu if you are in the U.S. Somewhere buried here are instructions for that. Not shure what you might be able to screw up in there. Better to find the step-by-step instructions.

IIRC, resetting the TPS on a 796 is fully cycling the key sequence on and off three times without hitting the starter. You have to wait until all the scrolling has finished before shutting off each time.

Unfortunately there were no instructions with the kit which i got from the dealership.
Thanks a lot for everyones help.  will give it a shot.  it just looks too easy to have to pay someone else to do it.
Now if only i can figure out where the air filter that came with it too goes….(slight noob...my first ducati and my first time owning a bike for more than a few months)

:-D

go to the Ducati web site and you will find a manual for your bike which will show you how to access the things that you need.
