Title: Stormtrooper's 796 Build
Post by: Stormtrooper on June 14, 2014, 02:18:43 PM
When I first brought the bike home by girlfriend said, "reminds me of those white soldier things from Starwars".  The name affectionately stuck ~

The goal of this project was to create a lightweight & modern café-inspired Monster.  She lost ~34lbs in the process and gained some power â€" especially in the midrange.  Shy of some very expensive carbon and magnesium bits this is as light as she’s getting.  BSTs are still on my wish list though!  Clip-ons + reduced weight make for a terrific handling Monster.  Enjoy the pics…

It looks light  8) Many details are well thought out  [thumbsup]

You're not there yet, but quite close to over-carbon-ize-ment.

BSTs might disturb the 'light' look and certainly over-carbon-ize this bike.

Have you imagined a flat black or grey front fender?

You got the belly "pan" on!!!  Looks great.

You'll be happy / sad to know that your original LED headlight still has not gone on my bike...because I'm now collecting parts for a much extensive makeover!!!  But I just picked up an essential piece that was holding up the whole process and I only have to a shop to do the tank / tail mod I've got in mind and she'll be under the knife pretty soon.  Can't wait!

Your bike is definitely an inspiration for us modern cafe-racer dreamers.   [clap] [clap]

Is that possible?  I think not!

One of my favorite and creatively modded new Monster on this board, really well done. Love the risks that were taken with this bike and how tactfully they were done. Really nice work.  [thumbsup]

Very well balanced overall.

I wouldn't change a thing.

Yeah I don't mind the yellow shock on this one. Mainly looks like crap on "Dark" models
