why the rest of the world thinks Americans are idiots...or worse.

duh...you're 12. :-*
now...had it been a giant a-hole....that's another story
[laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
In Australia, the fire fighters would have been pissing themselves laughing and giving him shit before deciding to rescue him!
Well..... they don't let us have cool stuff like that here, that's why.
Actually, I don't think it would pass here, or Britain for that matter. Groovy Europeans.
Sculpture like that and a teenage boy, what could possibly go wrong? [laugh]
Most important life lesson there - taught by fate in allegory and irony.
I can think back to school buddies who would have been caught in a much more compromising position. "We got a bleeder!" [laugh]
that guy was having a c&$t of a day, if you'll pardon my Anglo Saxon...
You can't make this stuff up. [laugh]
Honestly, what's up with the headline?
Really, 22 firefighters to get the guy out?
Methinks the reporter is using 'new math'.
I'm shocked that this seems to be the first such incident.
That sculpture has been there for 13 years and nothing has happened before?

"Allegory and irony" wasn't that a song by Paul Mcartney and Stevie Wonder?

Oh, well played. Outstanding! [beer]
Statistically, it just seems impossible that the sculpture has avoided an incident for so long.
I was an American Teenager once, and really quite well behaved for the most part.
But in many ways a teenager is a teenager despite any cultural or generational differences.
That sculpture presents such an overwhelming temptation to misbehave.
And his 'friends' took pictures to post on the internet?
No need for enemies then.
But I can see the 'friends' succumbing to the temptation, FFS I'd take a picture.
I'd not post it up for the world to see, at least.
The firemen could have had more humour, I mean it's bloody funny! You would think two or three guys could have lifted him out.
The other 19 applied the lube.
[laugh] [clap]
Imagine the recording of the 911/000 call! [laugh]

the kid went on to alienate himself from all his friends, because he spoke incessantly of his new-found love of Jesus.

who ya gonna call...

They all just came to see the dumbass stuck in the vagina.
Meh, could have been worse. It could have been winter and he got his tongue frozen to it (Flick style).

They had a quiet shift and, "hey fellas, we got a call, you gotta see this".

Fixed it for you.
Also, read that they didn't use the Jaws-of-Life. Shows the difference between German and French firefighters.
[laugh]
Beats getting stuck in the giant 'turd' we have in australia.....that would be nutty!

I'm surprised there weren't more.
