Any advantage of having the DP ECU and PCIII Vs the Stock ECU and PCIII? I can't see one, but I might be missing something.
Bike has an open airbox, DP filter (K&N style), Open Slip on Leo Vince, Hi Comp pistons. Goes very well, strong and smooth. The PCIII map (FBF mod specific) works very well on that combination.
Perhaps the timing map is different on the DP ECU, whether that makes it better or worse for that setup... not sure.
I think the timing map is pretty simple, they are prone to a hanging idle if they're lean, just like carbie engines.
The one that gave me a lot of grief was an '01 900ie with a DP ECU.
Easily fixed if you can access the trimmer electronically, but without that, very aggravating.
Thanks speeddog. It runs so well with a "lucky" FBF map, I see no advantage on the set up bar dyno tuning. It was a lucky map out a bunch that were tried by the owner.
09148 is a DP ECU number from one advertised in the parts section. Anyone know the code no for the stocker?
09148 is an old style dp #. std ones will just have m900 on it. 6160051100 is the software file # for a std ecu, so that should be on the ecu label too.
Thanks heaps Brad, I'll check what he's got.
Quite alot difference in ign map w DP,
l'd try it f 100 bux.
G'day Gert. :) Thanks, I'll tell him.
