i think waltrip wanted to do the trackside reporting...to keep it real.  and i think he'll really connect well with the likes of rossi and pedrosa.  benny parsons and bill weber will be sure to be up in the box, too, though

This will be a good one. No spoiler here. I keep stumbling onto the race results before I see the race when looking at Cycle News or SBKplanet online. >:( I'll just leave it at that. :-X

Don't forget about the other MotoGPs that will also be broadcast by CBS (not SpeedTV) and the Indy race by NBC. Huge bummer that AMS/Dallas is not having a Laguna Seca watch party this year. Looks like Scott and I won't be winning any leather jackets in raffles this year. :P Maybe they'll have one for the Indy race. [thumbsup] We'll have to look for cdc and giannis waving at the camera from the pits!

I'm not going to comment on the race, but two observations regarding the CBS coverage

A+  Digital signal (or at least better than the crappy signal from Speed)
C    Race commentary.  Kevin Schwantz, A;   Gregg White, D (So does anyone else think he would be better suited to ring-side WWF Wrestling commentator?)

And while I'm at it, does anyone else think Chris Vermulen looks like a hobbit?

You know I kinda liked Gregg White when he did the Two Wheel Tuesday weekly bike show on SpeedTV. Hated to see it be replaced by Superbikes [puke] :P, just a bunch of stupid stunt shit. But today he sucked. I agree with Lisa, he should commentate for WWF. What was he trying to prove? Just how bad he could be. Must have driven Schwantz crazy! If White mispronounced De Puniet's name one more time I was going to turn it off!!

Not really a race spoiler here but I sure liked the battle between Vermeulen and de Angelis. Not going to say for which place but it was a really good toss up down to the wire. That's all I'm saying. [thumbsup]

Just hope Gregg White gets real sick before Laguna Seca. What a load. >:(

To say the least the points race is going to be good.

It was a good race to watch, that circuit is pretty sweet.

Laguna Seca is next week.  Where is the watch party going to be?

The Laguna Race Watch should be at Boyd's BBQ.  They've got a new 62" DLP.  Plenty of bike parking too (you can even park on the sidewalk without getting a ticket  [evil]).

When does the race start?  I know it's on CBS but I'll be damned if I can find a showtime  [bang]

It could be 5:00 ET. That's what I wrote down when I first heard about the CBS and NBC broadcasts. If it's 5ET then it would be 6CT, right? I guess we will need to make sure.

The floorstanders in the pic are Fluance. They are a Mfg from Canada and their speakers are very very cheap, however sound pretty good and are made very well. Now when I say they sound good please note that I am not one of those audiophiles that can hear the slightest distortion in a driver at reference level volume! So, to me they sound pretty good  [thumbsup]. My system is a 7.1 system so I have 4 surrounds and a center channel which are Sapphire, the 2 floorstanders and a sub. Im not sure if Sapphire is around anymore, but these speakers are very nice and retailed back in the day for about $1500 for the set.

That sounds like a pretty nice system.  I haven't heard of Fluance, but I do recall comething about Sapphire.  I'm sure it sounds great.

I have Klipsch Synergy's  all around on my theater F-3 (Floorspeakers) , B-2 (rears) the 10" sub and then the flat panel center (can't remember the model) that's mounted on the wall.  I'll eventually get the reference center and move the flat panel speaker as a rear center.  Right now I have a Yamaha 6.1 receiver that doesn't do HDMI, so I'm looking at getting a Denon Receiver once I get money saved up for that

I have a Yammy as well but it is 7.1 with no HDMI, but it does do component up-switching so I have all my sources connected to it and then to my projector via a single set of component cables. This all projected at a glorious 119 inch screen, this is the only way to play XBOX  [thumbsup]. My receiver makes about 110watt per channel and my SVS has a dedicated 300watt BASH amp so it will get plenty loud  ;D

The Synergy's are way nice! I was looking at Denon when I baught mine but got a pretty good deal on the Yamaha and Ive been pretty happy with it.

they're not that bad (says the guy with a new ATI 4850 and amd phenom cpu)...just crank detail levels a bit lower to keep the framerates up.  and plenty of console games suffer from graphic issues...hiccups and poor framerates and such.
