Two Ducatis on the front row. Dovi 2nd, Crazy Joe 3rd. You can guess who is on pole.. ;)
He who will be 5th again by first corner..I hope. .
Hopefully.
Rossi's seventh after hurting his pinky in a practice crash. Apparently a lot of nerve endings in finger flesh.
It was a pretty good off.
Bautista followed him in...could have been much much worse.
Very high speed one he reckoned.
About 0.3 second covering the first 7 or 8 on the grid.

Did he hurt it in the crash itself or while he was punching the ground afterward?
The streak is over!!

The Turd took control on the first few laps and managed the lead all the way to the flag.
Lorenzo would catch up a bit, but just could not get close.
Rossi battled a bit with MM, but left him behind with about 10 laps.
The race itself was pretty boring except when watching MM and Iannone thought they were back in Moto2. It was glorious.
Both Dovi and Iannone represented for the factory. Bradl was the nearest satellite, but it was good to see the Ducs at least not having to battle through them. It's obvious that Gigi's team is improving the shitty bike to the point where they're not fighting for 10th.
Crutchlow should just sit out the rest of the season. I'm ready to admit that I believed the hype. If everyone on the Duc would be struggling, then I would give him the benefit of the doubt. Having both Dovi and Crazy Joe up there simply shows that either Crusty's team is awful, the engineers simply don't understand his feedback or he simply can't be considered a top notch. He did very well on the Yamaha, most likely fits his riding style best, but if he can't manage to even keep it on 2 wheels while his teammate and the guy on the satellite are fighting for 5th...
I admit i also thought if one could handle the duc it should be cal, guess i was wrong...however it is good to see the ducs becoming more competive and ianone seems to be a goode choice for the factory bike next year.

Boring race
Crazy Joe definitely deserves that factory seat.
Crusty needs to sit the rest of the year out.
Ducati should let me ride his bike for the remainder of the year 8)
Somebody please give Iannone a real bike.
I knew Marquez's string would end but 4th? He's going to blow everyone away next race or go down trying.

Ummmm...
Iannone is on the factory bike right now Frank...
Crutchlow is on the satellite GP 13.
Its great he beat Dovi and gave MM some of it right back at him. He's got cojones.

All 3, Crutchlow, Iannone and Dovi are on GP14s. If by real bike you mean something other than the Duc, then I would agree. I would love to see Crazy Joe on a factory Honda.

I'm pretty sure they put Cal on the Donkey since he's leaving.
His bike definitely had different bodywork from Iannone and Dovi.
I believe Dovi and Iannone got updates to the bike. Cal not so much.

If you look closely (see below), you can tell that Cal's bike is a GP14, not a GP13.

Didn't know Cal had been demoted to a sattelite!
How about Iannone- just nicked Dovi even!
Yes, and gave MM some of his own medicine. Neither were phased by it.
I'd like to see Cal whoop it up at least once and beat Dovi.
Perhaps he's too mentally beat already.
I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt in that it's his first year on the Duc... I think he's placing in about the same position as Dovi/Joe were placing last year.

So you're assuming that Dovi and Iannone changed their riding style to suit the bike or that they just found a trick to make it go faster? I still think that Cal's team and the engineers have a communication problem. I can also say that Cal went well on the Yamaha, which is all about corner stability and speed. His ego got the better of him thinking that his riding style could match the complete opposite style bike.
The only "trick" anyone found on the Ducati is the softer rear tire...and unfortunately it won't last an entire race. They're still finishing in about the same position as they have the last several years. Closer to the lead from an overall time standpoint, but that's just because they can carry a higher pace for the first 1/3 of the race.
Cal's problem is his confidence on the bike is totally shot, and now he doesn't really have any motivation since he isn't getting any upgrades. I don't believe his laptimes are any worse than Dovi/Iannone's after their tires have been destroyed. He just lacks their pace out of the gates.

Exactly!
Or a Duc that can handle a corner.

I'm thinking that it takes them at least a year to develop anything resembling confidence on the bike. After they make the mental shift they can learn to ride around some of the issues... call it the 1st year Ducati depression and then 2nd year acceptance cycle. Depressed about how bad the bike is the 1st year, accept that it's crap and have to learn how to ride it the 2nd year.
I still don't know why everyone expected Cal to dominate the Ducati. Dovi had his measure at Tech3...

That's what I used to say too. I think it was/is because of Cal's personality and the style of his interviews. Pretty dogone decent rider too but not Alien stuff.

I think it was Stoner saying that he thought Cal's style would work for the Duc too... but then again that might have been Stoner just trying to help Cal out in getting the contract.
Based on that photo, above, Cal's bike might go faster if they took off the rain tires and put on slicks
Did Rossi look back at MM right after he passed during the race or did I just make that up?
