I'd like to do a tail chop on my 2014 Monster. The Fender Eliminator from Competition Werkes (http://www.competitionwerkes.com/products/Ducati/2012/monster-796/standard-fender-eliminator-2 (http://www.competitionwerkes.com/products/Ducati/2012/monster-796/standard-fender-eliminator-2)) looks like a pretty good option based on reviews, but I'm not sure if that model will work on my bike. Has anyone installed one of those on a 14 Monster, or know if it'll work?
I'd also like to get one of the integrated tail lights from Competition Werkes... same question ;D
best person to answer, CompWerks . . . but it should . . . both items
Unless comp werks has recently got there act together, I would stay away from there fender kit. I have the EVOtech fender eliminater installed and it designed very well and the metal used is thick.
Our sponsors carry great options( Monsterparts )!
Ditto wot danaid said.
The previous owner had installed a CompWerks eliminator on my bike, and I still have it. After removing and re-installing it about three times for electrical mods, I have made my mind up that if it ever needs to be removed again I will bin it. Very fiddly to install, and large gaps which let in dirt and water. About the only plus is that it is sturdy, but probably made from the same gauge SS as the others.
There is a reason the Rizoma and Ducati Performance pieces cost so much. They look stock, except much more......tidy.
Thanks for the reply. I'll give the evotech one a shot.
I've had the Ducati performance chop on both my 1100's. No issues with either.

While the CompWerks tidy has its mentioned faults, appearance and/or quality is not one. And if I were concerned about price I wouldn't be riding a Ducati with many AFM parts on her.
IMO, I would just as soon leave the stock parts on rather than go the Rizoma, DP, or evotech route. They are plain ass fuggly compared to the CompWerks. That is probably why I complain about the installation difficulty, but still have my CW tidy.
Hi,
I got the Ducati performance chop on my 2013 M796 mounted by the dealer from new. After the first 500km riding one of the bolts had come off, I guess the Termis without the DB killers gave the bolts a hard time :D
Apart from that works as it should, as in you get all the shit in your back and make the bike looks great and tidy :)
comp werkes seem pretty cool to deal with on the phone. and their tail chop on my hp4 is absolutely tits! i also have their exhaust on my 1100 evo, which is far and away the best looking option, imo, and top quality fit and finish. but i went with rizoma tail chop, down low, like so:

I have the Evotech tail tidy on my M1100 EVO, I've had it installed for almost 3 years now and never had a single issue with it. It is well made, has a durable finish and it looks great. The only complaint I have is the poor installation instructions but there is a video on youtube on how to install that is very useful.
It is also one of the least expensive tail chop kits too. [thumbsup] I highly recommend it.

I like that. Any side view pics?
I've heard alot of negative reviews on the comp werkes - installation mostly.
I personally prefer the evotech. Hit up Jeff at MonsterParts. He's amazing to work with!!!
Monstertailchop.com has a slick system.
