Title: Anyone good at enhancing GoPro video/pictures?
Post by: justin123560 on September 23, 2014, 03:44:54 PM
Long story short I avoided a collision with a woman who decided to leave the scene of an accident she caused. I had my GoPro on and was able to take a good look of the car's license plate. Problem is I don't know how to clarify it enough to the point where it is legible. I know for a fact that it was dealership plates from a local dealership here. CHP wants me to some how clarify the screenshot or video to the point where they can definitely see the plates.

Thanks for anyone's help !

How are they going to track dealer plates?

You mean the ones with the dealer name right?

This is going to be a tough sell. Be careful what else may be on said video.

It had the dealer plate from a local Kia dealership which is basically 3 blocks away from the CHP station. Brand new car is easier to find. I went to the dealership myself and showed the video to the general manager. He confirmed the car was on their lot a few days prior. For privacy reasons the dealership can't give me her info obviously nor my insurance company. They want the authorities (or lack of) to retrieve her info.

You showed the...ahem, "cops" that vid and they're not following up? That video proves she violated your right of way and caused the accident. Hound them repeatedly until someone does their job.

If she is an employee driving on company time....go after the dealer. Let them punisher her. If she was driving it as a customer in a loaner...still go after their insurance, and then their insurance will go after her.

And I'm no lawyer, but enhanced means altered. I would not alter the evidence.

Any dealer who sticks a plate on just any old car for any random reason without knowing who is behind the wheel, is asking for trouble... So, give them trouble.

And...the beef is with the dealership...not the CHP.

Putting a dealer plate on a car is in essence, saying " this is our car "

If it were me...

I'd call bp's lawyer...

and stop posting about the incident on the web.

It's not as if he had one of these mounted to his bike... :P

He just needs to clarify the plate #. If it's recorded in 1080 he prolly just needs either a big enough monitor to clearly make out the #'s or have it opened in a program like Final Cut to grab a nice clean screenshot.
