Title: New Gear: AGV Willow Pants, AGV Telluride Gloves, Fly Coolpro Force Gloves
Post by: NAKID on November 11, 2014, 08:25:01 PM
So I just got all of these this evening. I needed some new summer weight gloves as my old ones are wearing through the palms. I wanted some winter weight gloves with armor since my Joe Rockets are all soft. And finally, I have lost a significant amount of weight since I bought my current AGV pants.

Stepped down from a 34 to a 30 in pants. The Willow pants are snug like they should be, good armor in the knees and shins, better hip padding then my current pair, plus a coccyx pad. These come with knee sliders as well.
I think they'll stretch out a bit during break in, we'll see how that goes tomorrow.

I loved my current summer gloves, ProGrip shorty gloves, but they don't make this style anymore. The Fly Racing gloves are mesh upper with hard plastic knuckles and a goat skin palm. These seem like they'll flow quite a bit more air than the ProGrips.

As for the Tellurides, I already love these for colder weather. They fit perfectly, offer better tactile response than the bulky JRs, nice leather and padded palm, and finally, offer hard protection in the form of plasticized metal mesh on the knuckles and fingers.

I'll report back tomorrow after I ride with the full combo.

Look for the old AGV pants and the Joe Rocket gloves in the Gear For Sale section soon...

So I haven't tried out the Telluride gloves yet, but as I suspected, the Fly Coolpro gloves flow a lot of air. They were very comfortable on the bike, easy to put on and take off.

The pants are a different story, I may need to adjust the position of the armor as it seemed to put a lot of pressure in the areas they are now.
Also, the seat is A LOT more slick than my other pair of AGV leathers. I found myself constantly sliding forward on the seat (DP Gel Seat). While being able to move around is great for the track, I don't like how much I was constantly sliding forward, especially during braking. Now, that may change once they break in a bit, so we'll see.

They also have two zippered front pockets, but I don't know why as I wouldn't want anything in them while in the riding position...

The AGV Willows are great IMHO, and they do tend to stretch out a bit after break-in. The pockets are fairly useless, but I put my keys in one and earplug box in the other when off the bike.

What kind of temps are you riding with the Tellurides? They look like a good cold weather option.

I'm in SoCal, so they'll see probably no lower than low 40s, high 30s at freeway speeds.

So looks like the Fly Gloves are gonna have to go back. The stitching holding on the velcro is coming undone after being worn twice for a total of about 1 hour...

The Fly gloves just continued to get worse so they went back. We'll see what Revzilla decides once they receive them.

So I wore the Telluride gloves today in high 50s. Not as bulky as I expected but decently warm. Hands were toasty the 25 min ride to work at speeds up to about 90.

Revzilla has given me a credit for the gloves, so now I just need to go and see what kind of summer gloves they have to offer.

As far as the Tellurides, I like them. At least as warm as the Joe Rocket gloves I wore last year, but better feel, and hard knuckle protection.

Bought some AGV Sport Mayhem gloves with the Revzilla credit. A little less expensive than the Fly (on closeout). Better armor, just as good of airflow, snug fit. We'll see how they hold up...

UPDATE:

Love these gloves! Flow a really good amount of air, fit great, thin enough to feel things in pockets without taking them off. Just all around great glove IMO, especially for the price (<$40).
