Title: Monster fuel pump works in a Mazda...
Post by: Bill in OKC on December 08, 2014, 12:43:58 PM
My son's car -04 Mazda 6- wouldn't start the other day. We tracked it down to a bad fuel pump.  After getting it out it looked very similar to a spare Monster fuel pump I had laying around for a few years.  Comparing the two side by side they were pretty much identical so in it went.  The car started and runs great, I'm sure more power than it had before (with the dying pump) - the check engine light went off too.  I told him "The power of Ducati !"  lol  No phone calls saying he is stranded yet.   [drink]

Or maybe, just maybe, the manufacturer of said fuel pump sells them to many OEMs.  [cheeky]

Still working...   ;D

Mazda wanted ~$600 for a replacement 'fuel pump assembly' with filter and fuel level sender.  I feel pretty lucky that there was a fairly generic pump inside it.

Yeah, Ducati wants like 900$ because they sell them with the flange and stuff too.
